Why are you saying Frankie was given her worst dance at Caroline wasn't? It was Carolines worst marked dance.

Think it was a mistake not to do it...It was a fantastic dance...

Yes, I'd call that ridiculous. Simon's was way better!

People are strange...

That was the one that opened the whole series, you really think they put her on first because they knew she would be crap?? IT WAS THE OPPOSITE.
Why didn't they give her that slow number that sucked her into the bottom 2? Come to think of it, same thing applies to simon....

Why should they have given them dances that landed them in the dance off? That was spectacularly unfair when they did it to Kimberley. Frankie's Samba wasn't unpopular with the public so what's the problem?

If it was the biggest mistake the people to blame are Kevin and Frankie. No way were the judges going to choose it for them over another dance that needed to be improved (of which Frankie had a couple to be fair).

Tbh I assumed the entire reason for the absence of this tango was the logistics, especially the make up (that it couldn't be applied or removed quickly enough).

Because those dances also needed improving...caroline's was really weak, as for simon...well he was a mixed bag all the way through. Some of his early dances were slaughtered by the judges yet they gave him the bloody charleston!

They don't pick a dance that is weak .. they pick a dance that they think will be fantastic with a few improvements. Whatever dances they were given .. the result would've been the same.

The most likely dance to be given to Caroline (similar to the one given to Frankie) was the American Smooth. And if it had been, I think Caroline would have nailed it far more strongly than she did the cha cha. But we'll never know now.

One of several criteria. The producers have the couple's choice, and probably a backup choice. Plus the style of the show dance. The "judge's" choice will have some input from the actual judges but it's actually a producer's choice to make up a balanced mix of styles and themes for each couple and each round of dances.

It did seem odd that we were given two cha cha's .. and ultimately two charleston's. There was a lack of ballroom but then the first set of dances seemed aimed at getting the party started which they did. Would have been very happy with the AS for Caroline .. especially so we could eradicate all memories of the slip but no complaints about the cha cha.

Biggest Strictly mistake ever was Erin's puppets.

But the order couldn't be different unless they put the show dance on last. and I imagine they no longer do that as people then would complain they hadn't seen someone's show dance, as they used to. .If Wicked was judges choice, It ruins the showdance and its not one that the judges could pick if they were looking for improvement. . And then there's the problem of having too little time to get made up for it to be the last dance in part 2.

The bigger problem seems to be what the judges pick, where the intent original mark and dificulty varies, and prioritising who is allowed to do what of their best dances. Caroline had to win without her best dance probably too - as Simon was gifted the tango.
