Yeah I've liked most of Dougray's things so presumed this would be decent. I understand it's all personal liking though, but I will check it out at sone point.

It did for a while, The Boy Does Nothing sold over 1 million copies worldwide, she had a platinum album, a successful tour.

Can you really say that Strictly launched Alesha's music career when she was in a group beforehand?

She'd had a solo deal, flopped hugely and was dropped. Without Strictly, she wouldn't have had her second chance and more success than her first solo material

It relaunched it. Her first attempt of a solo career died on its arse and then her label dropped her. Bit of a shame really, the music she was making was actually decent.

The Boy Does Nothing while didn't exactly cause a huge comeback was quite big worldwide. In particular, it was huge in Australia.

Kimberly did alright for herself, she got an album and a book deal and a hell of a lot of presenting jobs. It was a pretty important move as Cheryl had already established herself as yhe successful one of Girl's Aloud so I think it really benefited her. I think the same thing could benefit Frankie from this season!

Caroline is already in talk for lucrative deals which will definitely throttle her career!

Wasn't Kara Tointon's excellent programme about dyslexia after Strictly Come Dancing? She might not have overcome, or at least learnt to control, the condition without it so it could have made her success on stage more difficult.

Zoe has really enhanced her reputation as a first rate presenter - arguably the best female presenter on TV

Without a doubt, Alesha; Also Matt Baker.
Ms Funnity FUN and now Louis Smith.
Zoe Ball also.

Kara's career didnt skyrocket as I thought it would but she still did well.

old widdy milked it for all she could. She kept appearing on telly after SCD and even seemed to think she was funny. Before SCD she only appeared as an embarrassing article on the news, then all of a sudden she was on talk shows and game shows. Without SCD she wouldn't have had her moment of fame on normal telly

Len Goodman hasn't done badly out of strictly either

Before her solo efforts she was in a group where I am pretty sure her role was mostly confined to "MC-ing"

In terms of impact on recent contestants Craig seems especially vocal about Simon so he may be thinking of offering him some opportunities over and above the tour.

Caroline clearly wanted to get into musicals some time ago and may now get her wish if reports have any credence.

Frankie I think wants to go down a similar route, some of the music choices seem thus influenced and we know celebs do get some input here.

I also suspect whether folks like it or not we will continue to see more of Mark on TV.

The title the op used was "who has done well after appearing on Strictly" hence my answer. It was not a question of who cares who has done what since appearing

Tom Chambers got onto the West End.
Jimi Mistry got a wife!
Lisa Riley got some work that wasn't Emmerdale
Matt Di Angelo got a spot on Hustle
Louis Smith has done everything.
Zoe's done great since Claudia left ITT.
Chris Hollins got Watchdog
Pamela Stephenson got a few shows out of Strictly.
Holly Valance started getting into a few films (namely Taken)
Natalie Gumede is on Doctor Who this Christmas...

They're the main ones, I feel...

I think Holly did that film a few years before going on Strictly. I don't remember her getting any work much afterwards, except being a fashion expert on one of the sky channels I think.

Looks like Mark Wright is going to do well out of it with both the BBC and ITV in a bidding war for him.

Austin Healey got a deal with ESPN and later BT Sport as a rugby analyst - I think, if he hadn't been on Strictly, people wouldn't have seen that he was actually very good on TV. He'd done analyst stuff with BBC Six Nations pre- and during Strictly, but not much in front of camera work.

You are quite possibly right, however, she certainly started being a bit more relevant on the whole after SCD!

To do what? Cry bucketloads or bang on about his lack of dance experience!

Depends on the criteria. In monetary terms several already mentioned like Alesha.

In terms of your dreams coming true I would say Tom Chambers. It was his dream to do exactly what he's doing now. He might not be rich but I would think he's comfortably well off. I'd want to do that well.

Bruce Forsyth would probably have retired ten years ago and never got his knighthood if Strictly hadn't come along.
