The Apprentice US Season 1 Discussion
Anyone willing to talk about The APprentice US Season 1?
![]() I am now up to Episode 3! Sam is totally crazy haha! The rest of the guys are quite alpha-male like, a bit scary! ![]() The girls are just in turmoil at this point. Everyone has a problem with Omarosa haha! I have never seen girls on the UK show arguing in such an undignified manner! I felt a bit sorry for David and Jason, as they probably felt cheated that Sam survived over them! No spoilers please! |

It's been a while since I watched this, but this season is very good. It's the best of the US seasons, and it was before Trump's ego and irrational behavior took over.
David was an idiot, btw. Clearly not apprentice material. |

I can believe she thought Ereka was being racist when she said 'pot calling kettle black.' What an airhead! And she was so arrogant in her argument with Katrina! I have finished Episode 3 now - I suspect the majority of the entertainment will come from the girls' team now that Sam has gone. |

I watched the first 4 seasons starting from about 2 months ago, am just about to start Season 5 now!
From Season 1 I loved Omarosa, even if she was the token villain! |

Well I'm at the start of Episode 5 now.
Versacorp seem like they'll be a lot stronger than Protege. Mostly because Omarosa is on Protege and she will cause friction within any team she is a part of. I like Ereka so far. Are future series worth watching? I mean Series 2 onwards etc. |

Trump is so much better than Sugar though.
Yes, he's egocentric and a bit of a bell-end, but at least he makes for good telly. |

Loved series 1, really thought it was great.

I have found the US version so much better than the UK version. The only seasons I didnt like of the US version, was when the losing team had to stay in the garden and not the house!! They had to cook, sleep, shower in the garden rather than the house...stupid idea.
I have noticed they do fight more in the boardrooms in the US version than the UK versions. Oh and the prizes are so much better on the US versions. |

Wow, didn't expect Tammy to get fired in Week 7. She wasn't a great candidate but I did see her getting further.
Trump is SUCH an idiot. Week 6 he was annoyed at Jessie for taking Omarosa's rudeness, and Tammy was fired for saying, 'I think we were duped'!

I couldn't disagree more from what I've seen - if I compare the first 5 episodes of the US and UK version, there were much more arguments in the UK Version... Paul vs Saira and Miranda vs Adele. Particularly the firing line boardroom is very brief and basically just shows Trump summing up his decision - not much room for argument.

I'll just quickly give my thoughts on all the candidates fired so far.
David - It was obvious from the first minute that he was totally out of his league. Did he deserve to be fired over Sam? Eh, probably. The ideas that Sam was suggesting were just ridiculous, but at least he was actually doing something. David, you hardly even noticed he was there. Jason - Not a terrible leader by any means, but he made an insanely stupid move by deciding not to bother meeting with the customer, and just producing whatever the hell he felt like. The fact that he got cut to ribbons by Nick and Sam in the boardroom was the icing on the cake. Sam - Wow. Just... wow. Did he even exist in the same world as everyone else? And what the hell was up with that look he gave Trump at the end of the boardroom? Bowie - Maybe a little unlucky to be fired for not fully getting behind a strategy that was never going to work anyway, but I don't think he'd have got very far regardless. I think both he and Kwame were equally deserving of the chop, to be honest. Kristi - I can see what she was going for with that "big risk, big reward" strategy, but it flopped spectacularly in execution. Even if Omarosa did deliberately lose that money in order to get rid of Kristi (and I can't think of any sane reason that she would, not that "sane" is a word I'd ever use in association with her), Kristi just made way too many major blunders. Jessie - I don't think there was necessarily anything wrong with the way she handled Omarosa's insults, Trump shouldn't have called her up on that. That said, I actually do think she deserved to go, as she was the weakest member of the losing team, and arguably even the weakest candidate left in the whole game. Tammy - Looked like a real contender in the first few weeks, but really fell apart after the teams were mixed. That said, the reason she was fired was silly. Katrina was definitely a stronger candidate than Tammy overall, but she was completely responsible for the team's loss, and her attempts to blame Troy were just pathetic. |

Nah, she is just a nasty woman, nothing token about her at all. Glad Piers made her look childish, stupid and exposed her as a liar. I wouldnt urinate on her if she was on fire.
Oh god I just sided with piers Morgan. Whats the world coming to. |

I think they are (with some exceptions), but some seasons are better than others. Season 2 was quite good, IMO.
Season 6 is just awful, with the tasks getting minimal screentime so as to show as much arguing possible between the candidates. I'd skip it. Season 10 is okayish, but a little half-baked, and the bleed-through from the Celebrity seasons is pretty glaring. The Celebrity seasons themselves generally aren't horrible per se, but tend to be full of ego clashes and feuds over the most ridiculous things. I'd say that Celebrity Apprentice 3 (Season 9) is probably the best overall in terms of candidates being focused on winning than feuding, and the All Star season (Season 13) is actually decent once a certain non-celebrity is shown the door. The Martha Stewart season tends to be pretty underrated, IMO. The only major problem (assuming you have no issue with the uneven gender split) is that they tried too hard to make it softer and more feminine than Trump's series, which more often than not just seems goofy. |

So I'm up to Week 11 now - I can't believe Katrina is one of the last two girls
She has been a pretty poor candidate overall, and such a whinger!I also think Kwame has had his fair share of lucky escapes. |

She has been a pretty poor candidate overall, and such a whinger!I also think Kwame has had his fair share of lucky escapes. Mind you, there were not many other choices that year. Omarosa, Tammy, Heidi, Jessie (aka birdtalker) weren't really serious candidates. Kristi was in it over her head and Ereka was mainly there to score an entertainment deal on tv. My personal (US) favourites are Season 1 and Season 3 (having only really watched the first 3 seasons). Mind you, if you didn't like the girls in Series 9 of the UK version, then Season 2 of the US version is probably not for you. |

Katrina really reminded me of Luisa (more in terms of looks, but also by being a bit whiny). Personally, I kinda like those candidates for the entertainment level.

Abrasive, loud, very argumentative, some of them borderline crazy. You should see it for yourself.
