The lights should have been kept on, especially when there are still children's bodies at the scene - if I were one of their relatives, I would have found it comforting that they had the colourful lights shining beside them.”

The council offered to switch the lights off out of respect but the brightness was helping the emergency crews so were left on for some time , but I think it is probably better they go off for a while as handwringers to one side that means it will be more difficult for any pap or onlooker to take clear photos of any body being removed and put it online, and they would do and that's awful for the families.
Such a terrible thing to happen, especially at this time of year , losing anyone is always awful but close to Christmas time which is meant to be happy and fun , when you have bought their presents which will never get opened it is just so much more sad. My thoughts go to all affected by this.

no, your right it does seem appropriate especially in the immediate aftermath. The lights at this moment in time are better turned off.
