Yes, GLASGOW city centre!

Nothing would surprise me these days. I suspect they will be some law he can be done under.

There are quite a few saner voices on Twitter telling people to get a grip.

I sort of see what you are saying. Bravado and brag accompanied with stupidity creates fools who are brainless. Don't link them with paedoe's as in reality and sadly they are cleverer

Kapps, posts can incite hate in my opinion and that is not right especially when people have died. It is a police matter for various reasons including his own protection!

Northumberland police are investigating the tweet.

To put things into perspective some years ago a car crashed straight through the front window of Woolworths in my local town centre killing two customers. The driver had suffered a heart attack and was already dead in the car.....and that road is flat and very short, far less than what this truck traveled. Now think of the weight of that truck against that of an average saloon car.

Yes, but in this case it's just some goon making a crass comment.

Well, we'll have to see what happens.

Another very sad day for Glasgow. RIP to all those who died and hope those injured can recover.

I can't imagine what the relatives are going through

And in the case they use as an example:

Quote:
“Duffy was prosecuted under a piece of legislation originally designed to combat hate mail and nuisance phone calls.”

Pathetic. Why don't we just get the Taliban over here already because that's the way things are heading.

For me and I would suggest that for victims and families it's not crass, for the people of Sunderland I'd suggest it's bloody embarrassing and bang out of order

I agree, but neither should it be illegal. As a society we should be a lot bigger than that.

I can't see the page but I've seen most of it for myself on Twitter, it's like a virtual angry mob over there I'm glad I don't use the site.

In short/brief Mrs T this;

It's proved excellent in getting news out of war torn troubled countries and protests etc, but people here seem to use it as a kind of 'tittle tattle' tool. I'm not on Twitter but have read some of the most utter inane crap on there which folk flirt to each other on their silly phones such as, "i've just been to the Supermarket", "i'm having a coffee". "i saw X with another woman" etc etc. These kind of people don't talk on their phones as they lost the art of conversation way back. They flirt silly one liners instead.

Stupid sick Pratt posts a sick joke but that's all it is a sick joke.

I overheard someone say they did not give two hoots about the deaths and crash, should they be prosecuted for speaking like an arse. It's sad that this tragedy has happened and there will be idiots but if we asked the police to investigate every tasteless comment that is deemed offensive then they would be unable to uphold law and order. We are close to entering a phase where even the most innocent comments could be deemed offensive by someone

My thoughts are with the families of victims, idiots are best pitied and not scolded.

Exactly Mrs Teapot!

Kapellmeister, I am pretty sure you wouldn't be so dismissive of his comments if you had a relative killed today (eg if you were the father of the young girl who had to stand there shocked and lost beside the dead body of her mother?). It is interesting that you have no words for the victims and choose to speak only to dismiss this boys comments, I have pointed out before on here that I believe you are anti Scots and nothing you have said or done on here since then has changed my opinion.

And that's the best way to deal with the Pratt rather than involving the police.

People are nuts on Twitter. I can't believe some are calling for that guy to be arrested and charged for that lol

"Constable! Constable! Ah yes my good man, now see this! We want this scoundrel arrested and charged forthwith you hear!"

I did the same to my wife and daughter when I got home tonight.
They were in Glasgow today shopping, so naturally my heart absolutely sank when I first heard about this but my wife texted me pretty much straight after it happened asking me if I'd heard what happened so I knew they were ok.

I just feel so bad for the poor families who weren't able to get a phone call or a text to say their loved ones were safe.
