and you see tweets and pics of people threatening him but the police wont do anything about that. oh no as long as you say something deemed by some 'unpopular' and wind up some of the easily offended it only matters what they think

Exactly. It seems that making a joke is now illegal, but issuing threats of violence, up to and including death threats, against somebody apparently isn't.

Yes they did, they could've used common-sense and just told him to go away rather than wasting time and money by arresting and bailing him.

Did the driver of the lorry alight uninjured ?
Transmission fault ?
Diesel engine runaway ?
Driver took ill ?
Driver pissed ?
Driver distracted by his workmates ?

Inexcusable the delay re details, what can you expect from the idiots
in charge of the terminally pisspoor Police Scotland
Aarghawasp!

Aaaaand in true Glasgow style, in response to the "God hates Scotland" page we now have a page called "God smites eejits who say God hates Scotland, cos he disnae." Nice to see a bit of humour despite yesterday's tragedy.

It only happened yesterday for Christ's sake. Give them a chance.

I think because of the multiple warnings about an increased risk of terror threats at the moment and the van attacks on pedestrians in France. I'm not remotely speculating this incident was terrorist related, but in this climate I'm sure there are some that worry.

And according to some posters in this thread, Facebook never shut pages like that down.

Glad they have seen sense.

It doesn't, I expect either the people responsible thought better of it and shut it themselfs or the police told them too. I bet it was the former as there have been many pages much worse than that and they were never shut down.

Ahh right that's that sorted then. Thanks for linking. So much better than just posting a comment!

People have always made "inappropriate" jokes about tragedies

The Police have issued statements that it is not terrorism of any sort,.

Just seems the poster wants details to salivate over (whilst having a nasty dig at the Police). Why anyone is that impatient is beyond me

If they were finished working at the time and going back to the yard, or to another part of Glasgow, then the other men would have been in the cab..
Do you think the driver drives back to the yard with the other men running behind?

I always try to provide a link where/when I can , frustrating not knowing if the comments are true or just opinions/speculation.

Even if it was down to the police, the only way they'll likely get wind of a malicious page like that and take action against it is if people spread the word about it to get it reported as much as possible - which you seemed to have a problem with earlier on.
Your answer was to ignore it. Well, no. I'm not going to ignore something so nasty and offensive. I'm going to make sure it gets removed and if that means giving the perpetrator some temporary attention then so be it. Better that than let it fester where other like - minded cretins can have a good old laugh about "Jock c*nts".

Don't you read any of the links that have been posted.......not to mention the news which has now been out for over 24 hours?

The driver was seen slumped over the wheel which suggests possible heart attack, a fit or whatever. The precise nature of his collapse has still not been reported.

Judging by some of the pictures that are now being published, the lights were in a 'lattice' so perhaps they were left on until the bodies were removed to prevent/obscure photos being taken by press helicopters or by people with those drone things that are quite common these days.

Oh, fair do's I hadn't caught that.

I can see it from both sides. Lots of people have invested in this event and want to see it through to its conlusion, I suppose. I've thought to myself the investigation seems a little bit slow at this early stage, but nothing to a major degree.

They weren't quick - he handed himself in to police last night ... no doubt he felt he was safer there than sitting in the house.

Hopefully he has learned his lesson ...
