I am only familiar with the duet he did with Jennifer Warne. His voice on this song was very powerful, imo.

Thanks for reminding me of that . This one was and remains my favourite Joe Cocker https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPEwOupGe_I . To quote one of the comments on video "sometimes I think this song is my memory playing tricks on me...but no...it's real". Lovely tune and lyrics. I think it's one he wrote himself?
