Pioneer 1224

Have just bought one of these receivers and am thoroughly impressed with the sound of this for music and for DD sound. Everything works as it says on the tin except for one problem. Setting up the wifi dongle is pretty close to a nightmare - anyone else have the same problem? - if it does not work using the straightforward step1 and 2 then it is just about impossible to work out what to do. Fortunately I can pair up my IPad through bluetooth to the receiver so I suppose I do not need the dongle - it just seems unnecessarily complicated.

I can't help with your problem as mine is hardwired (ethernet), but if you ring Pioneer they will talk you through it, their tech guys are very well informed.

Nice choice BTW, I have recently bought the SC LX88, it replaced my Denon AVR4520, very impressed with it, the MCACC has worked wonders in my cinema room, the bass and mid range has never felt so punchy, I've also installed 4 ceiling speakers to get Dolby Atmos up and running, this really adds another dimension to the audio experience.

Don't know what music you like, but here's couple of really good albums to try, London Grammar's If You Wait and Jonny Lang's Turn Around, they sound fantastic.

I have mine working 5 speakers at the moment - all mission speakers from my old system - I have also bi amped through my original amp - the sound is fantastic. I can now feed my chromecast through the receiver which is giving amazing sound on Netflix I think I have not worked out a fraction of all the things it can do. The pro logic is pretty decent if the original is not in DD. Your system sounds quite a few steps on from mine but I am really pleased. I spent a long time reading up about different AV systems before I bought this one. Will watch out for the music you have recommended. My tastes are wide - classical to classic rock with lots in between. At the moment I am listening to Radio 5 from Holland - interesting mix plus high quality broadcast.
