My biggest fears have been met and Moffat just pushed the big fat reset button again it would appear. The Doctor and Clara met a fictional character called Robin Hood and went to heaven so they must have been in the dream state since into the Dalek. If Missy turns out to be a dream version of the Master I'm done with this show for good.

I doubt it, the dream stuff was confined to this episode I think.

Interesting that the Doctor woke up on the volcano area from the scene he had with Clara throwing the TARDIS keys into the fire... wonder if that's going to become relevant somehow?

I'd say the end of "Death in Heaven" too, with Santa's appearance at the end.

But no, I don't think the implication was that any more of the previous series was all part of this dream.

He deliberately put himself into the dream to save Clara, I guess. That's why he was in that dreamscape again.

But that place was all a dream too

Yes, but he was there again when he woke up for real at the end.

Something is amiss...

That's what I was thinking. Also if he and Clara woke up twice what about the others?

Simply a reused set for a different purpose imo - which reminds me, i loved it when the Temple of Peace keeps popping up on the show

More evidence to support the fact Series 8 was a dream is the chalkboard. Who wrote on the chalkboard in Listen?

Series 8 wasn't a dream. That would be terrible story telling. Moffat isn't that stupid.

Someone page Daria 'the entire new series has no continuity with classic who' it's her own dream that 7 wakes up in the shower and it's all a dream...

You're right, he would never erase his work, he only erases the work of RTD and the classic series.

Good idea - that would be a nice way of explaining, and disposing of, Missy and eventually introducing a new (male) Master.

I can't see it happening, though. Moffat is too proud of Missy (and of himself).

Still....

Lets hope not. As much as I didn't like Missy, it would be a big fat finger to us all if it was a dream. Not that it will be, Moff isn't that stupid and hopefully doesn't take us that much for granted.

Overall, I think I'd prefer it if everthing from In the Forest of the Night turned out not to be real. I'd like to keep Listen and Mummy on the Orient Express, though

Really?

When has he done any of that?

Please provide actual evidence to show what he has erased, and how.

He doesn't even do that. Whatever happened in those eras has still happened, even if Moffat did change the outcome of the Time War and inserted Clara into the Doctor's personal timestream.

I doubt that whole season 8 was a dream, but the finale and missy deffinitely could be. Doctor himself told that dream prevents us to ask real questions. And Doctor didn't questioned why the Master changed gender.

Maybe that's just my wish, but I deffinitely think this is an interesting idea.

I expect that's just to prove that it's nothing out of the ordinary and not to be questioned.

I find this post strange in the way that instead of saying 'it might be the case that...' you've stated your idea's as fact and even stated that it MUST have started since into the dalek.

Back here in reality, the whole point of robot of sherwood was that it turned out the myth of the stories was in fact based on a real man. Similarly in the finale, we saw an interesting new take on the character of the master by an actress who has already made the role her own. There is a very slight chance, as there is with any possible idea anyone could imagine, that the idea of most of the series could have been a dream might be true, but I think it is very unlikely as to do so would ruin the entire foundation of both of those stories namely, accepting that in the who universe robin hood was in fact a real man, and the fact that the master is truly indeed now a woman.

I think a lot of people supporting the 'whole/most of series 8 must have been a dream' are doing so because they still refuse to accept the master is a woman and are still scrambling around, trying to find some way to reassure themselves that there is still a chance that missy may be wiped from existence, which I very much doubt will happen. Especially since it's been pretty heavily publicised that Moffat has already asked her back. Not saying you personally are suggesting the idea for this reason, just that I suspect a lot of people who are suggesting this and support it are.

You could have predicted that for five of the last eight series and you would have been right
