Too many to count.
I just gave away a big bagful
Need to chuck a few more, as i just got 3 pairs of brand new gorgeous stilettos for $15 at a welfare shop.

Just trying to count boots - 3 long boots, 2 knee high and one over the knee, all flats.
Ankle boots, about 10 last count. some flat, some heels, some athletic casual some dressy.

I expect I have about 50 or more, and wear about 6 constantly.
A lot I have never worn, and plenty I forgot

I am a bit like you and have loads of shoes and boots.
You can never have enough stilettos

1x Magnum Panther (work)
1x Ben Sherman mid boot (best)
1x Crane trainer (running)
1x Nike trainer (dossing)
2x Urban Logik mid boot (going out)
1x Northwest boot (walking & bad weather)
1x Grafters boot (going out)
1x Lonsdale flats (going out)

Most of them are past their best & I'm having trouble letting them go.

Anyone else get attached?

me. I had a lovely pair of brown ankle boots. I had them for about 3/4 years, they leather had sort of faded and it was scratches everywhere.A few months back my sister said "you look homeless" I binned them after that.

How come it's "shoe's" but not pair's?

Two pairs of boots and a pair of trainers for work. And a pair of gym trainers. Think I'll buy a pair of converse soon too.

I do own more but I don't wear them so they don't count.

Crumbs. Too many to count. I just did a mental calculation of my dance shoes and I have at least 14 pairs of those alone. Then there are boots at least 8 pairs and 4 pairs of slipper booties. All of that before we get to the street shoes (summer and winter) , sandals and things like espadrilles, flip flops etc,

That has astonished even me. I used to think Carrie Bradshaw's (SITC) shoe collection was one of those wildly exaggerated things that TV shoes did to build a character but now I realise it perhaps wasn't so extreme after all.

Over 60, Husband hates it and often wonders why I need 4 pairs of black shoes(different styles work with different outfits) or 4 pairs of flip flops (one for walking on the beach, one as slippers in the summer, one for on the way to the beach and a spare pair). I keep them all in their boxes as it keeps them protected.

I can't throw any out though and will get them repaired at the cobblers when they need it. I had some lovely boots years ago but threw them out as I was bored of them and have regretted it ever since. I have also always regretted throwing my very first pair of Doc Marten boots out especially as these days they are over £100 when I bought them in 1992 they were £40 or something

I totally get that and actually tell your husband from me that 4 pairs of black really isn't enough.

You need silly high blacks, for when you plan on doing nothing more than stepping in and out of a taxi and posing on a bar stool - 2 two pairs one open toed/strappy for summer and closed toes for winter.
Then you need regular high heels, for the office and any time where you do actually have to walk around a bit - two pairs see above.
Then mid height or sturdy heeled for if you have to actually really walk somewhere or for pavements in town where slim heels get stuck between pavers, (2 pairs naturally!)
Then flats or low heels and of course you need black boots too.

I don't know how he thinks you manage with just 4 pairs

I live in boots, they make up the vast majority of the shoes I own.

2 x Dr Martens 8 Eyelet boots - 1 plain black, 1 dark red (I love Dr Martens, only brand I would pay good money for)
1 x grey snow boots
1 x dark grey biker boots
1 x plain black boots (for work)
1 x black wedge heel boots
1 x walking boots

Annnnnnnd a pair of converse, running shoes and Teva sandals I bought for going to Asia. And a pair of massive 5 inch high heels I bought to go to a wedding.

Seeing as it's the new year, I might invest in another pair of boots

Not in the long run. I bought my first pair for about £60/£70 in 2008 and they're still going strong. They take a while to break in properly but when you do, they're so bloody comfortable.

No idea off the top of my head! I own:

1 pair of Converse
3 pairs of Vans
2 pairs of Dr Martens (one black 8 eyelet, one grey mid calf-ish Triumph)
1 pair of creepers
2 pairs of walking boots
1 pair of heels
1 pair of smart, flat shoes
1 pair of wellies

So 12 pairs
