Are these ceramic/ground up stone frying pans any good?

I'd be most grateful for the experiences of other forum members, please.

I've seen the various types of pans mentioned in the thread title on TV ads and I just wondered if they are actually any good? Thanks.

This was all prompted by me doing bubble and squeak for tea this evening and it's safe to say that my frying pain is not in pristine condition!

Mines brilliant.
First of all I bought a Ceracraft white surfaced pan.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ceracraft-Ce...+pan+ceracraft
It lasted a few months before everything stuck and stuck badly.
Then I bought this

It's excellent.
You can literally fry an egg without any oil and it just slides off the pan.
Clean with warm water, dry off with kitchen towel.

Get a Tefal Intensium hard anodised aluminium frying pan or stirfry pan instead and forget the ceramic ones. I bought a stirfry earlier this year to replace my 28 inch Tefal bought in 1987.: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tefal-Intens...F5DMTN9XZRA0QK and http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tefal-Intens...ref=pd_cp_kh_0

I agree with Toby - wouldn't recommend those Ceracraft ones.

I prefer a metal one with a good non-stick surface, but there are some decent ceramic ones out there.

Thanks Toby, I've been thinking about buying one of those Regis pans.
They have them in Asda.

I've got one of those Regis pans and its very good so far Previously I had a Ceracraft pan which was OK to begin with but then everything stuck to the bottom and it was a bugger to clean - dreadful.

I would like to thank everyone above who shared their experiences for that is appreciated. I am grateful because there are now two positive candidates to consider and a lemon of a frying pan* to avoid !

I have a white Lagostina ceramic frying pan and absolutely love it. It's really easy to clean and needs very little oil for cooking. I want another one!

I paid £80 for a set of 3 Ceracraft pans. Absolute rubbish. JML should be taken to task about these. As they don't do what they claim. Funny how it's that same tw** of a chef that advertises the Regis pans, who advertised the Ceracraft pans previously. Funny how the Regis pans are the best. The same claim he made about Ceracraft ones. An absolute sham. JML should be ashamed of themselves. Before anyone suggest contacting JML. I did, and they offered, and did nothing.

Oops! I only just realised that the OP decided on Ceracraft rather than Regis
150 customers on Amazon rated them as unfit.
Amazon no longer sell them.

Duh!
Read it right the first time, wrong the second time!
Ceracraft was the "lemon".
Good call.

I'm liking my Regis Stonecraft frying pan. It keeps the heat for a while and the food fries better.

I've got that frying pan and its very good. But for stir-fry I still rate the steel wok I bought about 20 years ago for six quid from the Chinese supermarket - always tastes more authentic to me
