Sony and WinX DVD Ripper Platinium

27-12-2014
I am trying to convert several DVD movies to a portable media format so that I can burn them to a portable hard-drive for either connection to my sony tv (KDL40EX401)or sony dvd player. (BDP370) I have tried several formats using WinX DVD Ripper platinum but nothing appears to be supported on either Sony.
Any suggestion on which format I should be using, or which ripper programme too would be much appreciated?
Cheers.

The Blu-Ray player formats are listed on page 29 of the manual

http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4169142131.pdf

And for the TV on page 21

http://pdf.crse.com/manuals/4168148E51.pdf

Seems like the common formats are MPEG1 and MP4

avi and mpeg worked about a year ago, but they don't now! After some trial and error mp4 appears to be working!
Thank you
