Ronnie steals a good amount of money from Phil and he goes berserk. Its like he has all but forgotten his stealing from Roxy

He's king Phil! He's allowed!

Not being sarcastic btw! King Phil is great, as long as he gets his comeuppance every now and again!

It was equally hypocritical to hear him list Nick and Charlie seniors 'crimes' as if he's led an angelic life

I love Ronnie but tbh she's stole off him twice now. She stole off him after she killed Carl but she did say she was going to pay him off.

Phil and Ronnie are both delusional: they are so concerned over Nick 'The Big Bad Wolf' Cotton whilst they sit casually discussing his murder over a Christmas drink.

Anyway what's it to them that Nick Cotton is back? What right do they have to say who can live there or not?
As long as Nick Cotton doesn't do bad things to people then it should be no skin of their nose. Who do they think they are to dictate who is good or bad bearing in mind the things they've done and are still plotting to do?
They've got room to talk when they're discussing killing him. To my knowledge he's not doing anything like that.

Which didn't really ring true for me, Phil has had several mortal enemies over the years and has never murdered any of them. So why on earth is he bothered about Nick Cotton who doesn't pose any threat to him.

Maybe Phil and Ronnie are founder members of The Royal Society For The Protection Of Chair Legs?

This! Is there actually any reason why Phil dislikes Nick, any back story to it that I've forgotten about?

They have had a few spats, nothing majorly serious as far as I can recall.

Life has never been better for Phil, he is married to Sharon a woman he has idolised for years. He has reconnected with his son Ben and has Jay and Denny as surrogate sons. He also has his granddaughter Lexie who lives a couple of mins away. Phil has three businesses, none of his cousins are scrounging off him and Shirley isn't stalking him. I cannot believe he would throw all that away to murder Nick Cotton.

Hypocrisy is the Mitchell way (well, the Phil Mitchell way).

I did find the scene amusing when Phil was talking about Nick and his father's crimes as if he's any better than they are . Okay he hasn't murdered anyone (although he did accidentally kill a tramp ), but he's hardly Mother Teresa. Let's not forget he's a wife-beater, something nobody mentions at all on this forum .

I have to agree there. It's seems so out of character even for Phil to actually plot a murder so casually. I feel as if he's always stayed just within the line of being a cold-blooded killer. As for Ronnie, I really with they'd stop constantly vacillating her character between Damaged Goods and Dark Ronnie.

The whole plot doesn't ring true, in fact. For instance, Ronnie's pressing Ian for contributions to her Get Rid of Nick fund is beyond a joke.

Just look what he did to poor Lisa - the psychological abuse was horrific.

The man is pure scum and the biggest hypocrite on the square - and that is really saying something given the competition!

It seems like Phil is desperate to get rid of Nick and I honestly can't understand why. Sure, Charlie (who Phil hates), Ronnie (who Phil tolerates), Yvonne (who Phil doesn't know) and Dot (who Phil has barely interacted with in 25 years) are in danger of being jailed but I just don't get Phil's motivation to have Nick murdered. This Nick drama barely effects him and their feud has come ouf of practically nowhere. I know they had a few run ins but nothing that would warrant this level of hatred.

Ronnie's motivation makes a little more sense but it's still an enormous overreaction to the problem of Nick. Personally I think Ronnie is getting off on being in charge of the situation and would be really pleased to have an excuse to kill again. Phil knows what she did before to Carl so, again, if he's trying to get rid of Nick to protect Ronnie it makes no sense. He's winding her up to set her loose to commit murder. The murder of a man he's had a few petty squabbles with over the years. Maybe Phil is just a sadist?

Apparently Dot and the Vicar passed the collection plate around in the church too.

He does enjoy causing people fear and pain almost to the point of orgasm.

Remember how he terrorised poor Lola for months?

This storyline makes no sense - Nick makes a few sarcastic remarks and the Philth wants him dead?

What about poor Dot - it would kill her to lose him again.

I'm thinking maybe Phil and Ronnie have something to hide. I have to agre it makes no sense. Their reaction to Nick is completely over the top.

I don't think Phil or Ronnie would care about Dot losing Nick. Ronnie would love nothing more than for Nick to die again and she'd love to be the one who kills him.

I agree - it is none of their business.

It is Charlie and Dot's.
