Predictions for music in 2015
What do you think will happen in the music world in 2015? In a year's time we can look back at this thread and see where we were right and wrong.
I've tried to find 2014's thread but had no luck! Can anyone help? Here are a few of my predictions: - Rihanna will finally release her album, it will be brilliant, but I don't think she'll have a #1 single. - Union J will get dropped - Adele will return with her third album and slay the charts once again. It will be the highest selling album of 2015 both in the UK and worldwide - One Direction will have another number one album and huge success etc. Basically they ain't going anywhere any time soon. - Ben Haenow (X Factor winner 2014) will return with a single that will do moderately well in its first week but will drop like a stone. His album will do the same. He'll be considered a flop. - Tamera Foster (X Factor finalist 2013) will release an amazing single and hopefully an album - Little Mix's return will be a pop triumph, with success in the charts and criticially - Beyonce will have a quiet year, don't think we'll hear much from her til 2016. She might even have another baby. - Ke$ha will come back and she'll do quite well - Sam Smith will sweep the Grammys and the BRITs in the first part of the year but will be fairly low-key for the rest of the year. Might come back towards the end of the year. - The Saturdays will try YET AGAIN to have another big single but will fail miserably, and will announce a break/split by the middle of the year. - Ed Sheeran will act similarly to Sam Smith - reap in the awards in Jan/Feb but will have a quiet year for the rest of 2015. - Taylor Swift will release 'Style' and it will smash everywhere. - Emeli Sande will return and have pretty big success. - BRITs Choice winner James Bay will not live up to the hype he's received. He will be less of an Adele/Florence/Sam Smith, and more of a Michael Kiwanuka/AlunaGeorge instead. - Ellie Goulding will return with a killer single in the middle of the year and a critically aclaimed album towards the end of the year. - There'll be at least 8 occurrences where the official number 1 is different to the sales number 1 (ie. streaming will become more and more important) Any predictions from anyone else? |

I think Rihanna's career will suffer from taking a break tbh.

-> Britney will release album 9 and the song she recorded with Giorgio Moroder and hopefully win back fans and the public again
-> One Direction will have yet another number one album -> Ben Haenow will release his debut album and then possibly disappear off the scene if the album flops (mum won't be too happy as she's a fan! She told me to buy her his single for Christmas )-> The Saturdays will release another album which will flop and then they'll either go on hiatus or split up -> Little Mix's third album will be a hit |

-> Rihanna will return and the album will be a MASSIVE seller
-> Adele will return and have humongous sales, but not match up to 21 and people will still call her a flop, major debate on this forum whether Adele is a flop and whether she's going to disappear or not -> Britney will release an album and no one will even know or care unfortunately -> Ben Haenow will real ease a top 10 single, a top 10 album and disappear forever -> Little Mix come back anticlimactic and do alright -> Leona Lewis will come back (another return ik) and have a highly acclaimed album, yet suffer sales wise (higher then Glassheart, lower then CWL, E, S) -> Ellie Goulding will be back and will have another number one album and single and be one of the biggest selling UK act of the year (Adele over her Obvz) -> Emeli Sande will flop - will be the same story as Leona and Spirit/Echo -> Taylor Swift will continue to be a big seller and release more US number ones and UK too 10s (Style being one of them) -> Rita Ora will release the second single from her upcoming album... Eventually... -> Rebel Heart will do better then MDNA -> Lady Gaga teasing new material but no album 2015 (would love one though!) -> Florence and the Machine will release an album? Moderate success, along the same lines as Ceremonials did -> Completly agree with earlier post, Ed and Sam will milk the first few months of the year and do really well but will be Completly quiet - no more single from Sam and another one from Ed (I'm sure he said in an interview there's gonna be 1 more single for the BRITs) -> Ke$ha comeback with new sound and flops :'( |

Kelly Clarkson will have a successful album in the first half of the year
Leona's album will appease fans but sell even less then Glassheart Rita Ora will break Cheryls record for most number 1's Rihanna will be everywhere Christina Aguilera will have new material out in the second half of the year and it will be further proof that her career ended with B2B Arianna will have another album out by September and it will catapult her further into superstar territory 1D will have their greatest hits and an announcement of their farewell tour MKS will continue to string fans along with false hope, teasing new music, only for the announcement to come that no new music is coming |

I can't argue with those saying that Rihanna and Adele will dominate.
I will however disagree with those saying Ben Haenow will flop. I'm gonna go out on a massive limb and say he'll do rather well, at least by male X Factor winner standards. |
from this list I think the Rihanna thing will happen,
plus 1D, my theory, 1 member leaving in Spring 2015 and then a greatest hits in autumn and an announcement that they will quit in Oct
yeh that and at least one will end up in rehab, probably Zayn. Cant believe how old he looks these days My other hopes/predictions > Britney releases album 9, its better than Britney Jean as will.i.am hasn't touched it. does well in US but flops in UK because she does absolutely no promotion in the UK whatsoever > (my big hope) Pink releases album 7 mid-end 2015, back to her normal pop/rock sound none of this ave rose crap she released this year. Does amazingly like always, announces tour 2016 and BLOODY INCLUDES SCOTLAND! > Adele releases new album and by xmas we'll all be on this forum absolutely sick of her > Aston Merrygold's solo album will flop and a JLS reunion rumour mill will start > Mel C will release another flop solo album > Mel B will continue to 'work on' the album she's been 'working on' for the past 6 years now > All of 2015 will be dominated on spice girls 20th anniversary reunion rumours for 2016 > Justin Bieber will make a comeback, itll hopefully fail and he'll hopefully get dropped > The Saturdays will release yet ANOTHER flop album. Hopefully they'll finally get the message and split |

I think Gaga is teasing stuff at present, I think this could be a good year for her (she did say "if we want another TFM, I'll do it")...I don't think HER happiness comes into it anymore where the fans are concerned

Leona will comeback in the first half of the year and enjoy gret success, won't match Spirit, but will certainly do better than CWL, Glassheart and maybe equal Echo. She will also have critical acclaim.
Little Mix will come back, enjoy sucess here in the UK but still won't do anything major in the US. Adele will release her third album and it will be massive, though won't have the same acclaim as her second. Rihanna will finally release her new album and the wait won't have damaged her at all, if anything it will have made the public's appetite bigger. Mark Ronson will have a big year, though his future single's won't mach the success of Uptown Funk. Bruno Mars will release another album and have his continued level of success. Fleur East will launch her first single and it will do well but not huge numbers, same goes for her album. |

Just going to throw this one out there.
AronChupa - I'm An Albatraoz will be a UK #1 single at some point in early 2015. You have all been warned. This is coming from someone who tends to like the big European dance hits each year. |

On a seperate note, I will predict the following songs to become hits in 2015.
Meghan Trainor - Lips Are Movin' Following the massive All About That Bass, this new song is already getting a lot of airplay on the music channels and radio are on board. I reckon this is going to spend at least a fortnight at #1 once it's released. Sheppard - Geronimo It's been a hit practically everywhere even in America although its peak of #90 isn't brilliant but it's better than nothing. Whether it can make it all the way to #1 in the UK is left to be seen but I have a gut feeling it will get there. Hozier - Take Me To Church An odd one this, as it's success on Spotify recently hasn't exactly matched its success on iTunes so far. However, Radio 1 only this week re-added the song to its C-list and I suspect it will eventually make the A-list. For a song that's already been in the UK charts for about 3 months I think there's a strong chance that Hozier will eventually break into the UK top 10 and may well have one of the longest chart runs in the top 40. A future million seller? Quite possibly. Omi - Cheerleader Thanks to a remix by German DJ/producer Felix Jaehn, this has already become a #1 hit in both Denmark and Sweden. It's slowly climbing up UK's Spotify chart which suggests a hit on the horizon. Shame it's not much cop but there you go. Kygo feat. Conrad - Firestone This is just added for a pure wishful thinking. Currently #1 in Norway, I really like this track and would really like to see it become a hit in the UK. |
