Sure it's still the season of Christmas but it's not the same, as someone mentioned yesterday on DS it feels like staying at a house party at 5am when the funs over and the hosts want to go to bed.

We looked forward to that 1 day for months and its gone in a flash.

I'm not sad Christmas is over, but I am sad that the time to return to work is getting closer.

Not really. I'm glad to see the tree put away after new year's day, to have some space back in the front room. I tend to feel a bit sad over Christmas as I have family that I don't get to see.

It's just the lull before the Hogmanay storm!

Now's the time to catch up on recorded films and TV shows, and maybe grab a bargain in the shops.

I don't really mind going back, not back to the 5th, it's more the back to hum drum with nothing to look forward to for quite some time.

It's nice enough, but no, I can't say I do.

I don't mean to be rude to anybody, but if you look forward to Christmas for months beforehand, and feel that there's nothing to look forward to once it's over, perhaps you need to reasses your life a little, and look at injecting a bit more fun and enjoyment into it throughout the year?

This Christmas I've been better as my daughter and new grand daughter came back on Boxing Day and we had a lovely couple of days repeating Christmas but they're gone back home now and the depression is starting to kick in. I love the Christmas season but as January approaches I feel my mood sink deeper and deeper. By the time March comes I'm on the up again but these next two months are not good generally.

I'm the same. If December didn't have Christmas then it to would be another dreary depressing month but Christmas kills that. Yes January and February are depressing, come March spring is in the air, evenings are getting longer, Easter is around the corner, all its good again.

No, looking forward to getting back to normal. Pretty much there already as I didn't bother putting up a tree or anything this year.

I agree, I am the type of person who feels sad when summer is over.

I'm sad when my family all leaves the house and we have to start thinking about taking the decorations down, then things feel empty and quiet in the house. All the parties and jollyness are over. Then to top it off I have so much work/revision to think about over the next few weeks in regards uni.

Me too. I can't stand the build-up to Christmas with the pressure to buy useless stuff, and so much stress on the idea that everyone must be especially jolly and happy.

I like normal. I like day-to-day life best.

Oh and by the way, nothing I bought anyone this year was useless. You need to improve your buying skills if you have to buy people useless things.

Nor did we have to force happiness. Guess what?? Some of us are happy naturally when we are off uni/work and at home with family.

Yeah, I always do; I love Christmas. And mostly (like this year) I'm working for most of it, too. Which is why I always take a week off in January. Cheers me right up!

That said, I have no idea WHY I'm working for most of it. Back at work yesterday; slightly more than bugger all customers. Popped in today on my way to the pub to see how they were doing and it was completely dead. They should probably have just given us the week off and saved on electricity and stuff.

Yeah. I love the two weeks my son has off at Christmas. It's a bummer when he goes back to school in January, it's cold and miserable and it just drags on and on right through to the end of February. I'm happy again when spring arrives.

Not sad at all. Now is the time to start planning what I want to do next year while it's quiet. It gives me time to think about the year that's gone by, think about what I could have done better, what I did well, and so on. Still not looking forward to January though. It just seems to drag on and on.
