And there's Bill Wyman and Mandy Smith (48 and 13) at time of meeting.

I suppose in their defence you have to say that Page and Wyman were not serial offenders like Glitter (and Saville).”

That is true though it's not like he grabbed a innocent 14 year old off the street and raped her. She was a willing partner. Yes I know she cannot give consent but she has said that she felt she was old enough.

If she really felt that she was violated she could have easily gone to the police back then. Glitter and Saville were a different type of beast for sure.

I know that later on Jimmy page went with Bebe Buell (Liv Tylers mum) who was known on the "groupie" scene. I suspect a lot of groupies were either underage or close to legal. They wanted only one thing though to party and be seen with a Rock Star. It was a different world back then.

They can try and make excuses but they went for the money and didn't give a toss about apathied. Playing for a mixex crowd was them just trying to cover their backs. To this day they are flogging the long dead horse that is Queen to make even more money.

He was a very vocal supporter of Powel. During a gig he urged the crowd to vote for Powel.

I read an interview with Mandy Smith ages ago and although she didn't say it directly, I think she realises now she was taken advantage of and was in no position to consent. I still remember how she had a hit in Europe with a song called "I Just Can't Wait" with lyrics defending her relationship with Wyman.

Why is it though that whenever Sun City is mentioned Queen are the band that get it in the neck. Whilst they should not have played there true, no-one mentions The fact that Tina Turner, Dionne Warwick, The Commodores and Curtis Mayfield all did a Sun City show. That's worse than Queen IMO.

No-one calls out Frank Sinatra, Rod Stewart or Elton John either. It's always Queen.

What I personally didn't like was them playing Sun City then gaining a career boosr out of live aid..They should never have been allowed to play live aid and a number of acts were going to pull out because of this but played in the end because of the cause being so big.
You are right about the other acts though.
