Hey

I have just purchased the above model, do I need to look into switching on any of the settings (Trumotion, super resolution)?

How about cinema mode for blue rays?

My advice is to go into the Picture Settings menu and find anything that includes the word "Dynamic" in the title and turn it OFF. In my experience all that does is knacker the picture quality, I have never seen it enhance it in any way on my LG telly.

The picture settings are set separately for every source. So you could have one set-up for watching the built in tuner, a second for a Blu-Ray player on HDMI 1 and a third for a PVR on HDMI 2 for example.

I prefer to try and set every input the same to give the most natural looking picture. Personally I wouldn't use Cinema or any of the other modes but start from a neutral setting and tweak that.

But basically the only settings that matter are the ones you like. Your eyes are the ones being assaulted by the images on the TV so what we think about them is irrelevant.

Though if your LG is anything like the one I've got and the one I set up for my mum, out of the box it makes everyone look like they are staring in an episode of TOWIE where there has been a free offer at the tanning booth The colour balance needs to be toned down a bit to make people's faces look normal again.

Fantastic guide.

I think I might switch tru motion on when I watch football.

I'm going with the recommended Cinema Mode, and have tweaked the contrast etc.

Since the last update in November, our TV keeps going out of sync on all devices, satellite and Bluray. Anyone else had this? Shame its doing it too as its a great TV. Even tried altering the audio delay and no matter what I do it makes it worse.
