..Probably a dramatic title But it does seem that Madonna has kinda fueled a lot of tension between herself and gaga...indirect innuendo etc (and yes I know; "that's just who Madonna is!")

Anyway, she's just posted this picture on her instagram of Gaga

http://instagram.com/p/xMzvmOmEQS/?modal=true

Why don't they just team up and do an epic song together?

Last week Donatella Versace *apparently* said how she's "tried with Madonna (to get her and gaga to reconcile), but Madonna's Madonna".

Madonna does seem to have unresolved issues regarding Gaga, I don't know why and it's a real shame because I think they would be great collaborators!

I still don't understand why Madonna is pictured with rope wrapped around her face and head, seems rather pointless to me!

Azealia Banks just tweeted Madonna sounding mocking of gaga.

I hope they don't PUBLICLY bully Gaga, because Madonna is treading a fine line I think.

All I'm going to say on the subject is that they are all supposed to be adults and should act like it. Now I'm going back to watching The Muppets.

Gaga has done absolutely nothing but show love and appreciate madonna as an artist, Madonnas behaviour has been pathetic to say the least. Especially for a woman of her age.

I feel sorry for gaga, and if I were her I would not try any further retaliation, just remain silent.

Madonna has been retweeting pictures for days of people recreating the Rebel Heart album cover so why is her suddenly retweeting a fan made one, by a Gaga fan no less, suddenly Madonna bullying Gaga?

People need to grew up. There is no drama here.

She posted one of Miley ^^ just before the Gaga one. Is she bullying her too? lol seriously get over it. Only people looking stupid here are the fans, mainly Little Monsters who are so immature they even make Perez look sane, trying to create fake drama.

Madonna's manager Guy Oseary took to Twitter.com to silence the rumours, writing, "That song is NOT about Gaga or anyone in particular. The song is an unfinished demo she had no intention of finishing or releasing along with many others. She has NO ill will towards Gaga. It's nonsense. She was listening to Gaga's Tony Bennett duet album last week and appreciating it."

Madonna herself later went on Instagram to clear the air, explaining, "There are those who want to shut me up but they cannot! We still live in a world that discriminates against women. Their (sic) are people that are so hateful. They want to create feuds between strong women that do not exist! I do not wish ill will towards any other female artist and I never have!

"The world is big enough for all of us! I will fight for my rights as an artist, a human and a woman till the end of my days! Because I am a #rebelheart and I walk in the footsteps of giants and I will not apologise or defend my unpublished, unfinished, stolen work.

"If you don't like who I am or what I have to say then why are you reading this? #unapologeticb----."

Yes Madonna may say all this on social media but the problem lays that when asked in interviews, it either starts off well or ends bad or it's some sarky comment (like the dog comment on Graham Norton, and some incident on Ellen when asked what she thought of Gaga).

Just either say what exactly it is that makes her loathe Gaga so much or just be nice, or just move on!

She's keeping the Gaga thing alive, All because she knows that she poses the biggest threat to her historical career.

I think it's a very iconic cover, one of her best. I read that it is supposed to indicate how you can be confined or imprisoned by bad things in your past, but the look on her face is about moving beyond that, which is what a lot of the songs are about. It also could be looked at as referring to people who try to imprison her and stop her from saying what she wants. It's not pointless at all, it's meant to be symbolic. The wires are in a heart shape referencing the title. I think it has a surrealistic feel to it and is inspired by Frida Kahlo one of her favourite painters. who's used imagery like that of being confined.
I think the whole Gaga/Madonna feud has been blown out of proportion. As someone else said, fans have been posting pictures of themselves with the wire over their faces and she posted a similiar picture of Miley. Madonna really has never said anything terrible about Gaga. People misunderstand her sense of humour.
And I hardly think Madonna or anyone would be threatened by Gaga, given how poorly Artpop performed on the charts.

Oh puh lease...why is this a debate?

Madonna LOVES gaga.....Oseary her manager said she has listened to her music a lot recently.

gaga is heavily influenced by MADONNA.

it is the fans that cause this war and due to the media reading into a leaked demo (much like Lana Del Reys demo last year apparently shading gaga) which has nothing to do with her as stated!

At the end of the day Madonna and gaga fans have a massive overlap of liking both and buying both artists music...this is not Britney Spears vs Christina Aguilera where most fans went one side or the other......this is a grey area....while Madonnas fans are so loyal and strong as a unit also they are diverse and flexible with tastes...whereas gaga while diverse in age a lot are from the fickle youth market...at least 2009/10 they were they have since moved on......that is the MAIN difference.

It is only beef between fans...end of the day the artists themselves have no grudge or ill will toward each other.

Madonna is my idol and i love gaga especially her post-2011 music output....people read way too much...and indeed hate/.negativity sells papers more than a positive story...."madonna and gaga are best friends" would not nearly sell enough papers would it

People want drama....and both these ladies do that.....they are similar and different in many ways and that is why i love them.

now come one....pull yourselves together! Madonna has been nothing but positive of gga and vice versa really. Madonna is not the artist to be negative toward anyone else as she stated and nor is gaga both are creative and think mainly about their music.....and TBH i think we are all sick and tired of the same old questions...lets keep it on the track of the music shall we?

Again seriously? you are citing stuff from two years ago.

Talk about clutching at straws. If this was an attempt to create a Madonna bashing thread it failed.

This is so funny too! lol

Taylor, Beyoncé, Katy and even Rihanna are all out performing Gaga. Gaga isn't even a threat to them anymore let alone Madonna Hell Rita Ora is more of a threat to Madonna than Gaga is!

I do have to laugh at Little Monsters. They are still deluded as ever. For someone of Gaga's supposed ''status'' ARTPOP was a commercial disaster and never spawned one hit single. She is still at the start of her career so flops on that scale indicate no one really cares. Now Taylor Swift on the other hand That's a career Gaga wishes she had and we all know how jealous as sin Gaga is of Katy Perry lmao

Thanks for your explanation but I'm still not fond of it and i'm not really interested in what it means I much prefer the cover of True Blue or Ray Of Light, simple but beautiful portraits of Madonna!

People are taking this way too far, it's all for show! When Madonna makes an off-hand sarcastic comment about Gaga she's simply fueling the media's love for drama, she's doing it on purpose, it's perfect for promotion and attention! There is no ill will, Madonna is Gaga's idol and Madonna is an honest woman, she called Gaga's song "reductive", that wasn't her being evil, it was her being honest about what she thought of the song, Madonna has never been one to beat around the bush or bullsh*t, she says what she thinks. It would have been disingenuous to her character if she'd lied.

Madonna is a legend, an icon of pop culture.

Lady Gaga is a popstar.

derek, i notice that you have started a lot of anti Madonna comments/threads, I take it that you have something against her.

Personally every artist has their own place ...music is a subjective art ... like who you like without the need to depreciate others.....

Madonna's comment is right about people's hate creating wars and pitting women against women. It is futile and vindictive.

'Their (sic) are people that are so hateful. They want to create feuds between strong women that do not exist! I do not wish ill will towards any other female artist and I never have!'

She is right - there is more than enough room for everyone. Let it be. Be a lover not a hater. Appreciate who you like with positivity.

Madge has had a few decent tunes in her long career, Gaga has 'Bad Romance' but like Jacko they have some of the dumbest fans around.

Well if there's a war Madonna's won.

She's had 30 years of a succesful career and Gaga is already over with 5 years. I'm not even a big Madonna fan but there you go.
