I would say Laurel has a problem of Rhona-sized portions, she just doesn't know it yet.

I also think that there is an underlying chemistry between her and Ross despite what happened and this storyline will hopefully explore that. They clearly love to hate eachother and it's a situation which usually ends in a tryst!

It's obvious that Laurel and Marlon are eventually going to let their guard down where Ross visiting April is concerned and I think it will result in Laurel and Ross forming an unexpected bond and becoming more than just friends.

Laurel and Marlon are a dreadful pairing and what better way to completely tear them apart than the ultimate betrayal by Laurel. It has to happen!

What is the betting that he will be the first to discover Laurel's problem and keep her topped up in alcohol in exchange for intimate favours? ..

I'm probably completely wrong but it's clearly going to be a big story with such an initial slow burn. Whatever happens, Laurel and Marlon need to split.

You should be a ED writer! This has to happen! Laurel keeps wailing to everyone that she wants a good boning, Moron won't oblige, so she's probably getting desperate........Make it happen Kate, Pleeeeeease!!

I am certain that Kate will not disappoint!

There has to be some sort of resolution to Laurel and Ross' feud before the sparks burn down the set!

I see this story taking a similar route to the Rhona painkiller addiction plot. We will see another side to Laurel acting completely out of character, probably do some terrible things and endanger the lives of others in the process somehow. There is bound to be an incident at some point involving her putting the kids' lives at risk again, maybe even Moron's, and no doubt she will drunkenly jump behind the wheel and accidentally kill someone! The possibilities are endless! I predict that Ross is going to destroy her and take her down with him!

exactly what has Ross done to deserve that I want to see a Ross Debbie Pairing. I loved laurel when she first came into emmerdale she was fun now she just whines and nags, I'd like her to get a grip and become a proper mum to April instead of acting like a jealous child. I would say she is using the drink as a crutch at the moment.

Laurel and Marlon should be forever

I was away from 22nd Dec to 27th Dec so missed those Corrie episodes.
Rather than go through these episodes, could someone please let me know (in a nutshell) just what happened in Corrie last week?
I really would be very grateful.

Let's not forget her making a mountain out of a molehill about the "car jacking" cannot stand her, wish she was written out and buzzed off in her bumble bee costume

It was obvious where this storyline was going the moment Laurel said to Marlon "I'll give up drink" ... then April woke up, asked to sleep in their bed, and Laurel went and poured herself a drink and hid it from Marlon. Happened a few weeks ago.

I think it was quite clever, though, because up until that point, Laurel was seen drinking a lot, but they never pointed it out or made a big deal out of it - which is what soaps usually do when they begin a storyline. Even when Laurel was caught drink driving, the focus wasn't on her drinking. They sort of introduced the storyline half way through (if you see what I mean), which I enjoyed, just because it was a different way of telling the story.

Laurel reminds me of Sue Pollard. Laurel and Ashley made a better couple.
Sigh. Ashley and Laurel were great together - they don't work apart

I do think Harriet's helped Ashley's character recover from that dreadful abuse storyline, but I don't know... Ashley and Laurel were perfect for each other (better writing for them probably helped, too), so trying to see past that and see what they've become is hard to swallow.

It will be satisfying to watch Laurel develop an alcohol addiction, anything that gives her grief and splits her and Marlon up they have to be the worst soap couple in history. With Ashley now happy and settled with Harriet it would be good to see Laurel's life fall apart and she can see what she threw away when she left Ashley. Laurel is such a horrible woman.

Wherever it goes, just keep her away from Ross.

She already drags other characters down that have no choice but to interact with her, don't do it to Ross as well!

Laurel with MY Ross?! No no no! I simply cannot imagine that. If he ends up with Chrissie in Home Farm I'd be OK with him being with her and being Lord of the manor! Imagine that! There is no way he would work with Laurel goody two shoes. She would nag him to death and he would leave her sharpish. It just wouldn't work.

I only mean a fling not a full-blown partnership as I agree, it definitely wouldn't work! We have to remember that Ross is a master manipulator and I'm convinced that he will be the first one to fathom what she's up to and then use it against her whilst supplying her with more booze in the process. Maybe Laurel will throw herself at him at some point in a drunken state and he will either reject her or reciprocate. It will be sweet revenge for Ross following the aftermath of the car-jacking and the attempted scissor attack on him! Also, the alcohol is going to change Laurel obviously, as it did Rhona, so Ross may see a very different person to the one he sees now. Their feud has to come to a head and I think this story will somehow lead to it.
