A ChromeCast dongle is an option, needs a free HDMI socket and a free USB socket on your TV though. £30 they cost.

Just buy a long HDMI lead then.

It will all depend on whether your tablet is capable of casting and/or mirroring. If it is then it will then depend on what it will cast or mirror to. You need to check out the instruction manual that came with it to find out what it is capable of. No doubt a YouTube search will find some results for you.

You can still use Chromecast for a wireless connection, as it plugs into the HDMI socket of your TV:

If TV does not have USB slot to power chromecast, you can use an external USB power supply.eg. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00M...AC_SX110_SY165

I use EZCAST cheaper than CHROMECAST and easy to use.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_fr...zcast&_sacat=0

Or as said you can get a mini hdmi to hdmi
http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_od...+hdmi&_sacat=0

if the hdmi lead is too short, you can get an hdmi extension

EZcast is a miracast dongle which is a good simple system but has drawbacks i.e. the tv is essentially a second screen, and just mirrors what is on tablet - so if you are using netflix (say) to see a film, tablet plays the film and copies the screen to the TV.
This is ok, but use a lot of battery power, and you can't use tablet for anything else in meantime.

Chromecast works differently. In simple terms tha tables sends the netflix url to the chromecast and the chromecast picks that up and connects to netflix directly via you rourer, The tablet is still connected as a remote control but does not play the film itslef. So you can even put tablet in standby, use it for something else etc. Much better for battery use. Downside is that apps have to be chromecast enabled.

Not all apps have that and so Chromecast also has a mirror mode (similar to mirror cast) which is ok for apps which do not have a chromecast ability but admittedly a miracast is probably slightly easier.

Overall chromecast is very flexible and worth the money. Miracast is simpler but less flexible.

Allegedly chromecast works with android 2.3 onwards, but you probably should have at least version 4.0 realistically for it to work. If it works, it could be sluggish using an old tablet especially in mirror mode.

You may not even have miracast on your natpc I have a natpc tablet and it doesn't have it.

Personally I think chromecast pluses easily outweigh the minuses.

Note: You could be faced with using hdmi calbles only unless you upgrade to a modern tablet - even a cheap tesco HUDL would be ok.
