I think Linda Carter is my current favourite character
I really like Kellie Bright and I remember this time last year when the clan descended on the square that people were saying Kellie Bright wasn't a good actress but I really disagree.
She's great! |

Linda is definitely one of my favourites and there's a lot of love for Kellie Bright on twitter and Facebook. Linda is one of the most popular characters at the moment

I've said from the beginning how amazing Kellie Bright is! I'm glad she is finally getting that recognition!
Agreed! Linda has been my favourite character since she arrived! Closely followed by Johnny. |

She's great - best addition to the show in years. I love her and Mick together too - really nice to see such a strong, devoted couple on the show.

She is my least favourite character by a mile, I was disappointed to see her quick return last night, but thrilled when she a Mick abruptly left at the end.

Well considering she's been the only character on screen this year, I don't think you have much choice in the matter.

I saw some Angie Watts clips on a repeated 'Eastenders Special' program over Xmas and theyr'e very alike, not intentionally so I should imagine. More in terms of how they sound and their presentation to the crowd. Was quite interesting.
I hope Linda is in the show for some years yet, I always fear with Danny Dyer being in EE that it could all come to an abrupt end if he decided to quit. |

Totally agree she is my favourite character at the moment!, I love Kellie Bright too. She's just as amazing in EastEnders as she was in Bad Girls and Rock & Chips.

I've always liked both Linda and Mick, and Linda was definitely up there with my favourite characters before this week, but the Christmas episodes have put them both right at the top of the list for me. The way Linda has dealt with it all, Mick putting Linda first above everything that was thrown at him, and how their relationship has remained strong throughout has been great to watch. I hope they're both around for a long time.

Kellie Bright has REALLY transformed for this role from portraying the far less glamorous Cassie Tyler on Bad Girls in 2002. It feels like two completely different characters as opposed to the same one (I thought Nicola Stapleton's characters were quite similar plus she got with Sid Owen on both occasions).

For me it is what has Linda done to make you dislike her so much? And what is it you don't like about Kellie's acting? You shouldn't just judge a actor/actress just on.Eastenders its best to see other films/programmes before you judge them at their acting imo if you get the chance watch rock and chips
Kellie Bright as an actress has disappointed me in that her facial expressions seem to only do two things, frown or grimace/grin and she hasn't brought any warmth or depth to the character who I would imagine on paper is supposed to be a matriarchial figurehead of the family who is strong and no nonsense like Angie Watts who she tries but fails to immitate. That's my opinion anyway

She's been beyond amazing all year. Her early character saw her be flamboyant and frothy with a harder, more judgemental edge. She batted between comedy and drama incredibly well, and her rape trauma has pulled the character to the other end of the spectrum.
And Kellie Bright's performances are never anything less than brilliant. She puts so much thought and craft in to her work. |

I feel about the same as the poster you are responding to here so thought I would give a view. Linda as a character is dislikable because she sits in the centre of her adoring family while they fawn all over her to keep precious Linda happy, IMO a mother always puts her children first and does not expect it to be vice versa. She is a racist, controlling and, when she's not the centre of everyone's attention, quite unlikeable lady with few, if any redeeming features, so personally I would say what is there to like?

That's my opinion anyway ![]() The entire family had a problem with Wayne. Her reaction to Dexter was very soon after the rape. Her accusing Denise of stealing the whiskey that Mick gave her was when she was still emotionally fragile. The only initial prejudice that really came out was for Johnny's sexuality, though she came to accept it. I don't know about the racism thing. Assuming Nancy hooks up with Tamwar in 2015 it might be explored. That said I'm sure Shabnam would have a lot of prejudices about her brother dating someone of another ethnic/religious background, herself. |

I don't think disliking Dexter is any indication of being a racist, it appears to be the default position for most people.
I'm talking about the character of course, I'm sure the actor is a perfectly decent guy. |

I don't hate Kellie because I don't know her, only someone who is unable to seperate fact from fiction would hate somebody they have never met based on a fictional character. |

It's an opinion that I share, thank you for trying to explain it, though I fear it will do no good.

Well don't just judge Kellie's acting just on Eastenders how do you know you don't want to see Rock and Chips you might think Kellie can act in other things but not Eastenders and its the same with all the cast like Jo Joyner, Lorna Fitzgerald, Jessie Wallace and Charlie Brooks don't just judge their acting just on Eastenders because an actor/actress might be poor on a soap but amazing in other films and programmes

I never liked Shirely right from the off. I was hoping Phil would sack her from her job as a crappy barmaid at The Vic and I so want her gone!
All she does is moan moan moan and blames anyone but herself for the problems in her life. She should clear off ASAP. Dean, they should write out by sending his down. If they don't, then that sends a bad messege that rapists can get away with what they've done. |
