Not this old reposte again. If Sky WERE allowed to wholesale BT Sports, what price do you think they would charge their customers? Bear in mind this is Sky we are talking about...
We'll never know as BT are never likely to allow it.

Ducking out of giving me a speculative answer makes me think that, in actual fact, you agree with me that Sky would charge more for BT Sport than what BT themselves do.

This is Sky, remember. They don't do anything without getting their pound of flesh.

No its just that its an irrelevant question as it will not allow access to Sky at least for the foreseeable future.

I'd like to see them both reach a mutually beneficial deal what benefited the customers of both platforms that said I'd also like to win the lottery.

Of course I knew what I was signing up for, and now everything is working perfectly, I am happy with what I'm getting.

I have a mishmash of subscriptions to get what I want, and maybe I'll shift to Virgin in 12 months time, but I'm just not keen on them..

Matter of fact, that's pretty well my philosophy these days! But only having free and open competition on several platforms allows us to do that, and sadly there are still several restrictions being imposed (more by Sky than BT) so although things are improving, the competition is not yet fully free and open.

Price should be the main choice we have to make, not channel availability or restrictions thereof. Who wholesales what should be irrelevant, as long as each channel could be viewed on each platform (as in the case of Virgin Media IIRC) thus enabling us to avoid having multiple PVR boxes and attendant sets of wiring and antennae cluttering up our rooms and external walls (and ugly trenching on the pavements or cable spiderwebs in the sky for that matter).

Someone think of the consumer, the whole domestic TV reception setup is a right old mess, in more ways than one.

TV platforms came form people like my self that wish to see more then old BBC 1 BBC 2 ITV then came Channel Four, when we hear that USA had multi TV systems that gave more channels and choices in what shows to view, So we in the UK got into satellites as they was very limited cable and we kept being told that they was no room for more channels. So we had two companies that gave English shows and channels but we had a take over and Sky became BskyB they gave a service of multi channels with a box and dish which was bigger then we got now.
They grew the channels and some died too but over few years the UK got news that they was a choice and even with a new channels of Channel 5 in some areas did not stop the public need for more TV and that in the 1990's came the idea of digital service and group of companies with backing laws to give public TV ( BBC ITV CH4 Ch5 ) space on the service DTT was born with a three way slice of choices of costs with packages free mid high and that was Ondigital which was grandparent to our Youview.
But BskyB did not like it and became a fight which was unfair in that BskyB could spend large because it's links to share markets which did not wish to £millions in backing lost, so free boxes and fixing and adverts in all press linked with BskyB printing parent companies. and remember that because our national networks did not have many channels of them self and they knew that customers would like to have more films and sports they had pay BskyB money for channels of two film & two sports.
DTT was born at 7pm on Sunday 15th November 1998 but with the fight with BskyB and very bad backing of OFCOM which held back the power to all the six muxes many customers just could not pick them all or would get the blocking of vision which BskyB got too when a year later they went digital too which took them almost a year to switch customers and they held two systems at 19 and new home 28 satellites.
Then the two ITV companies that owned Ondigital had give the platform one last push in using there name of ITV and bring on broad the other ITV companies to show that backing was there, but still BskyB kept pushing adverts and bring on more channels that ITV Digital tried to do too, they even give the UK the first E-mail systems by your TV and even then Internet by TV, but with cost and pressures with limited space and limited power on the transmitters, ITV had drop the company and our DTT was almost dead, but our BBC which was helping with bring new BBC channels like BBC Choice, BBC Knowledge BBC News 24 etc. They got a group together to save the service and could it Freeview later BBC with a group came up with our YOUVIEW boxes and system to bring more choice of channels by using the internet because they knew that government did wish back public TV by more muxes.....

Our youview boxes are great and the system is able to grow on top of Freeview and internet which has the speeds now with apps and channels but even with Freeview clearing the EPG to give 100 more spaces on top of the number still there for BT & Talk Talk to bring more.
I find that BT is now the only platform that makes it's own channels even when it's sports only other then BskyB because cable sold they TV channels few years ago.

We see that BT has money if they wish and they have spent in the last year, but not on bring more channels sadly .....

choice is what the public have shown over the years is there wish and yes even with bullies we have a larger choice then ever.
Yes we have Freeview and Freesat which are great in giving multi TV channels to homes in the UK.

BT needs to do more now as we see BT bring another sports channel to freeview and yet none on it own system. as talked before they may bring a change soon with large change to packages as the youview box has had few software updates that are looking to speed up app and internet channels switching and interface has changed to show channel logos which does show a difference of each channel then just a name and numbers which with growing freeview service and maybe internet the logos will help ???

Most of the channel on that channel list have been n those numbers since BT started offering the channels. So most of the EPG has not changed apart fro a few new channels.
