EE: Why are the Beales being shifty?
Firegazer

When Emma was talking to Cindy on the bench, Cindy kind of walked away as if she was under some sort of demonic possession. Then in the vic, Emma mentioned Lucy, and the Beales suddenly jumped and started getting all hyped up about it, then the devil came and took Cindy again, and she just walked out the Vic!

What's going on with the Beales that we don't know about?

Their behaviour is very odd

Ever since Denise showed them the purse and phones she dug up, they have just been odd. Any normal innocent human being would never hide evidence linked to a murder and not present it to the police.

I don't think a Beale killed Lucy but I do wonder if each of them suspects another member of the family and are trying to protect them.

They hid the evidence but it didn't even seem like they believed Ben.

I agree.

My 'idea' was short of dispelled but I still think Lucy saw him at the flats after he'd been with Rainie and an argument between the two led to her death (accidental or otherwise.)

perhaps they are trying to protect Lucy's reputation, her drug taking is only known to a few people, Ian has already said that he feels as though he didn't really know her, they may be reluctant for Emma to find out too much about Lucy however anxious they are to find out what actually happened to her

Her drug taking actually seems to be common knowledge now - on the BBC "Lucy case file" i noticed today that it's mentioned several times in the newspaper cuttings. Surprised me seeing it because I don't recall the police ever questioning this, and if it's known I would have thought they would have?

Makes me think it's a family member, but who.

It would be interesting if Ian did kill her, but then that feels very Twin peaks. I had wondered if this storyline would have similarities of the Laura Palmer murder.

Jane obviously has something to hide, and I think it's got something to do with the murder.
