EE: Kush's Family

Are they going to do a Mickey Miller type scenario whereby they introduce the son first, followed by the family?

I think a Middle Eastern family on the Square could be really interesting and Kush needs some support right now!

We are getting some additions to the Fox clan first, maybe Kush will get some family later in the year.

Hopefully not, I find him and Shabnam so dull!-_-

Kush just seems like another character who will be gone within a year or two!

I'd like to know more about his deceased wife, and maybe a sibling or so might tie him to the Square a bit better. He's not a bad character, but he needs to be used more and better.

I think that introducing a son/ daughter would be interesting but I think he'd work well with Shabnam and be part of the Masood family.

Lol at Kim and Denise being classed as a "clan".

But as much as I like what we've seen so far of Kush (actor seems very capable) - I don't think we are to be calling for his family just yet. Especially with him just being a market trader. There are many more that require attention, Kush is new - he can wait.

I think DTC should be careful with his pacing and treatment of the actors, he's already said there are so many actors "hungry and begging for a storyline", if he doesn't pay them attention, like Sam Strike they might just decide to pack it in.

Is this true? Has it been confirmed?

DTC wouldn't have brought him in without a purpose, I hope it doesn't take that long to find it out though!

Must be more than just a Shabnam storyline though! Maybe linked to her secret coming out?

Really? I never knew that! When did they confirm this?

I wouldn't be surprised if Kim's husband has either been cast or will be cast soon. It would be interesting to see Ada or Daphne come to stay as well.

I have a feeling Kim's husband is a lot older, perhaps Andrew Sachs is playing him?

There's never been a Middle Eastern family on the Square (IIRC), so it'll be interesting!

Nick Sidi could play his Father.

If they're committed to Kush's character he may have some family members coming along. Or he might be one of those standalone ethnic minority characters who come and go.

Preeti Choraria was one of them in 2006/7. She had some promise at the start but flopped.

Why they didn't turn Manju Patel (Billy and Honey's landlady) into a long-term character (plus a family), I'll never understand. She was amazing! It's not exactly unrealistic that more than one Asian family lives in East London these days.

Kush is a very poorly developed character. I hope we will get to know him better before they bring in his family!

Is Kush really of Middle Eastern origin? I think an Arab or Persian family would be really interesting.

He said he has an Iranian parent and a British one (caucasian, I'm guessing?). If his parents are brought in, it sounds as though they would be akin to the Osman clan as a culturally mixed family. Along with the mysteriously deceased wife, I think Kush has a lot of potential if he's developed well.

vaslav, why do you think Kim's husband is older? I don't disagree, just curious. As for Andrew Sachs, he'd make a HUGE contrast to Kim!
