I suppose everyone that didnt kill Lucy could have been sending out Happy New Year texts or texting their other halves. My guess is that:
Abi was texting Ben and vice versa
Jay was texting Lola and vice versa
Peter was texting Lauren and vice versa
Whitney was texting Lee and vice versa
One of the others could have killed Lucy since Ian and Jane were only feet away from each other and the rest like Billy, Cindy and Denise aren't in a relationship.

So as I see it, it stands like this:

Answered Phone (still suspect)
Jay,
Ben.
Peter,
Ian,
Jane,
Mas,
Lee,
Cindy Jr,
Les,
Whit,
Denise,
Abi,
Lauren,
Max.

Answered Phone (ruled out)
Billy (seen in Square/George St during Emma's park encounter)
Lola (seen in Square/George St during Emma's park encounter)

This still leaves 14, however not all those who answered phone were present when the text was sent (the recieved text beep was heard in the Square. I will have to watch that again to see who was there so can we rule out those not there?

Would have been better to have had all the suspects recieve an email alert rather than all getting phone calls. This is 2015 not 1985!

Why would Emma have the murderer's email address? It stretches things enough that she has their phone number!

Im still not entirely sure why Les and Pam are suspects............... I know they were present outside the cafe when Emma sent the text but.......... what possible motive could they have for wanting to kill Lucy...........

thats the only reason I can think of tbh but seems awfully extreme!! - maybe they are serial killers hiding behind the funeral directors mask ..............

Les (and Pam) are only 'suspects' because DTC is playing with the minds of those who believed the fake story that went viral at the start of the 'Who Killed Lucy ?' storyline

Why would she have sent them an email? She wanted to speak to them and hear their voice on the phone and she also wanted to meet them that same day. By sending an email she risks them not reading the email for days as not everyone has access to their emails on their phone, some people only view emails on their computers so god knows when they would have read it.

A telephone call is more instant.
