An actor that doesn't get nearly enough credit as he should but Phil Mitchell aka Steve McFadden was outstanding in this evenings episode, as he often is.

Huge pat on the back Steve.

Here here.

He was great but as you mentioned, he usually always is. Deserves more credit.

He was bloody fab tonight. I almost quite like him when he's not just doing that move legs slightly apart, puff out chest, fix stare and lips into a cat's bum thing.

I've got to admit, Steve McFadden is a credit to EastEnders. He is another one of those who are brilliant but underrated.

So good! Can't believe so many people dislike him on her. For a second, I thought he could have been a goner - how stupid I was to think that

I absolutely agree!! Totally not respected enough.

In this episode Phil Mitchell singlehandedly made me believe in the "war" between Nick and Ronnie

I'm in the minority on here in that I found tonight's episode awful and cringey BUT I agree with the praise for Phil. He completely hit the right note all the way through

He gets let down by shoddy writing alot but steve is probably the best actor in soap. He was outstanding tonight just like he was when he comforted ian. You really feel it and totally buy it when he is doing something emotional not like alot of actors who just scream and wail

Phil Mitchell may not be everyone's cup of tea but there is one thing that can't be denied Steve McFadden is a brilliant, brilliant actor who is seriously underrated give Phil any sort of storyline and Steve McFadden will knock the ball out of the park. Steve McFadden as Phil Mitchell is a legend and he is one of this countries best actors in my opinion.

He's a brilliant actor but Phil's hard man act wears thin after a while. It doesn't ring true now he's in his fifties. I much prefer the rare glimpses we get of compassionate Phil, like the way he was with Roxy after the crash.

Yep, he was brilliant tonight, a real credit to the show! And actually credit were credit is due, I thought Rita Simons did a great job tonight as well. She's not always the strongest but she's now very experience on the show and think she pulled it out of the bag tonight.

He really did bring his A-game to this episode! Sometimes you can tell that he just goes for it. He can still pull it off. EE legend! Hope he's a big part of the anniversary week.

can't see what the fuss is about he spent most of the episode getting progressively red in the face and shouting his gob off - the norm for Phil really.

He was fantastic tonight. I absolutely adored Phil's scenes with Ronnie in the car and in hospital. Steve doesn't get enough credit.
They should write Phil less as the hard man act and more like the multidimensional character that he is. Long may he stay in EE.
Loved the Mitchells tonight.

Same here. The Mitchells have been around for so long now and gone through such a lot that we can really 'care' what happens to them, unlike the Carters (apart from Shirley) who have only been there for 5 minutes.

Steve McFadden shines brightest when playing fiercely loyal and protective Phil rather than the cold-hearted bully.

Dear Lord one of the countries best actors. He is one of the better soap actors but the character is worn out. He just goes round in circles. To compare him to Timothy West is like league 2 Steve with premier league Timothy.
