Are you glad that DTC is EP?
So a year in and the show has completely changed. Is he the right man for EE?

I think there's some perspective to be had. Am I glad that DTC is EP given the last 2? Hell yes. Am I glad that DTC is EP given the context of the last 30 years? Fairly. Either way it's a net positive

Yes! The only thing wrong is the block storytelling and wedding week was the pits. Tonight's episode was great. I do love the Carters but was glad of a break from them.

An underwhelming Christmas, and one good New Year's Day episode.
People need to stop wetting their panties, it's weird. |

Hell yes! There are flaws (is any show ever without them?) but EastEnders is exciting again, it's still entertaining even when it isn't at its best. Last year was great, and this year looks set to be even better.

You need to stop trolling, it's pathetic.
Annoying when people have a different opinion isn't it, and one that is completely non-biased.

I like block story telling as it can give you good breaks from stories. It's only when they take two months to revisit the storyline is it annoying. Mainly cause you are less connected with them

I'm loving most of the changes to EE this year, whoever they are down to.

Trolling because I don't agree with the teenage members of this forum who have all individually made a thread to say that was the 'best eps of eastenders eva'.

He's not crap but I still hold a grudge against him for the way he's introduced the Carters. Definitely too much too soon and I worry that might become the hallmark of his time in charge of EE.
If he's planning to be gone by the end of this year, fine but he's got through a heck of a lot of big storylines in only a year, which makes you wonder where he can go over the next 2-3 years. To be honest, even if he does leave this year, it doesn't mean the potential problem of having to cover old ground too soon disappears for his successor. I worry DTC may peak too soon and in turn, cause problems for EE in the medium-long term, which DTC's predecessors have been accused of. |

DTC has changed the show for the better, no denying that, however there are still issues that are being papered over, his reliance on The Carters, ignoring other families and characters, promising them storylines and not delivering, block storytelling and continuity, why his a good producer, I'm not salivating at the mouth about him.

I wanted the action over xmas to be more not just 2 mins, would have changed todays outcomes, loved the suprises, would like he to bring in some more old faces and less carter but it's getting there, certainly wouldn't be so focused on the carters storyline for those 2 mins of dean being beaten that would have been dragged out and worse especially post water shead. and i'd killed 4 people tonight and not told people. I'd do the suprises, get some more characters in, use some others a lot less and some more. not do silly things like happened with dexter but he's done well.

It's trolling when you make several posts insulting those who did enjoy the episode rather than being constructive.

Yes. He's kept it about characters and relationships but now with added thrills and more happening. Walford feels like a completely formed world.

was thinking to myself earlier that eps are sometimes just not given enough ime tobed in and make the required changes. everyone thinks it should be instant but dont appreciate how far in advance storylines are planned, contracts signed etc etc. I think we are now seeing DTC's full ideas coming into fruition. I'd knock the block storytelling on the head but thats it oh edit. actually I would also add in more single charcters. its going to become incestuous soon |

No one is denying you the right to an opinion. But being condescending and ridiculing other people's posts isn't constructive criticism.

I'm disappointed he didn't kill off Ronnie, would have made for an unpredictable 2015.
