Looks like it was a publicity trick to get people to watch the episode.
Someone died....but then they came back to life again. So it's technically not a lie. Although it looks like Emma is going to die. All throughout that episode it seemed to focus on everybody else in the crash and divert attention to Ronnie, while Emma was probably dying right in front of our eyes due to the effects of concussion which she wasn't being treated for. Can't see her lasting beyond the next two episodes. Often when a baby is born in dramas, somebody dies. |

It was Ronnie, she died for 5/10 minutes and was then brought back to life. DTC told us a half truth which got everyone watching, talking and excited about EE again.

Emma doesn't die. She's credited in every episode until January 9th, and Anna Acton has already revealed that she's staying in EastEnders up until the killer is revealed.

There are reports one character slips into a coma tonight. Obvious choice is Ronnie but it could be Emma and then she wakes up just in time for live week!
Anna Acton made a comment which makes it sound like Emma is involved in the live stuff.

Because I did feel a bit sorry for the character as everybody in the Square apart from Max didn't appear to give a flying fart about her, and it was all about whether darling Ronnie was okay. |

Thanks, I'm quite happy with that. So discount the second half of my post above, as hopefully I'm wrong.

That's probably why nobody did much to help her. I felt sorry for her too last night, I'm excited to see where things go from here! |

I felt sorry for her too last night, I'm excited to see where things go from here! It felt like everyone was against her. So I naturally felt on her side. Maybe it's because she's a copper and they don't like that sort round 'ere on Albert Square. |
