Moto G 4G

I see this highly rated midprice model is on sale at Tesco for £115. It's also on sale at 3 for £130, and I had a sim only contract with them last time before my phone was lost. How much would it cost to unlock a tesco phone and switch it to 3, which would give me all you can eat data?

I paid £1.29 for a Moto 4G code on eBay about 2 months ago.

Might be worth hanging on for a little while. The 2nd generation Moto 4g is out soon. This will have a larger screen.

Back in November, a new phone was tested. I was hoping that this was the new G 4G, not the Brazilian model. Maybe one that would do 4G in the US and here. I like the existing model and most of the bugs have already been ironed out.

Roughly how soon? Would need to be very soon as I lost my phone and am using an ancient nokia with no smartphone or music playing capabilities for the time being.

If you're a new Tesco Direct customer ( ), you can get an extra £10 off with a code, making it £105.

Just to clarify, if I bought it from Tesco Direct would I be able to get it unlocked and onto 3 for use straight away.

You would need the IMEI number from the phone to enable the unlocker to generate the unlocking code from Motorola. So not straight away but soon. If you have any Tesco vouchers, you can use them as well to bring the price down.

Just waiting to see the differences of the new 4G Moto LTE 2015 and this one.

The last code I bought arrived in about 20 minutes. They don't take long.

Google announced Moto G 4G 2014 going straight to Lollipop 5.1, bypassing 5.02.

That explains why my Moto G 4G (1st edition) hasn't yet had Lollipop but my friends with the 3G handset have.

Good news as 5.1 sounds a lot better, but lets hope we get something before the end of the year

Hoping for VoLTE enabling for the Moto G 4G in 5.1

Anybody know if this phone can use 64GB SDXC, prices have dropped recently.

I have the Moto G second gen which is 4G and I love it. It does everything I want.

5.1 enabled VoLTE on the N5 and N6 so I would expect Motorola to consider including it as well, even if they aren't part of Google anymore it would be pretty silly to remove a future proofing technology.

5.1 did not enable VoLTE on the nexus 5, and only American nexus 6's have VoLTE. I think it is fairly likely that the moto g 4G won't come with VoLTE.

Wait I see a VoLTE provisioned flag in carrier settings on my N5 now. I thought that meant that at least the capability was there. Sorry for the bad info if not.

Yes it is confusing, I thought the same at first. All android 5.1 roms probably have the VoLTE provisioned flag toggle, but only certain devices like the nexus 6 will have it actually configured.
American nexus 6's have a further menu which allows them to toggle enhanced 4G LTE mode which just turns on/off VoLTE.

I'm using one in my Moto G 4G, have had no problems with it.

Thanks, good to know.

Still hoping for VoLTE but with Android you never know.
