Lots of chortling about this on my Facebook feed. At £8.99 an issue with 100 weekly issues, you'll only need a paltry £900 and two years to spare.

I was very tempted because it does look cool, but 8.99 a week is out of my price range

Probably cost less time and money to build the full size one for the new movie.

Saw a 3D globe advertised too, £5.99 per week for 100 weeks!

I saw an ad for a Model Suzuki Hayabusa on one of the motoring channels.
http://www.model-space.com/us/build-...-hayabusa.html I have the full size version and it cost less than this model. Ok, i've done some work on it, but really, £1k for a model. |

There will be plenty of Star Wars geeks going to buy this. Model looks cool but no way is it worth £900.

I was totally set on it.
But then I saw the 8.99 price tag, and then the small print. 100 issues, 4 issues a month. No chance! Especially when building it yourself over 2 years. |

as a star wars fan, I could be persuaded out of perhaps 2 or 3 hundred quid. £900 not a chance.

There's another thread about the mark up price of things.
I wonder how much this thing actually costs them to produce? Most of it will be molded plastic. Even adding in the magazine production it would be fairly cheap overall. |

I'm sure we've had threads about these magazine models before. Some have folded before the model is finished.
Total rip off. |

I wonder how many magazines and models they produce.
I reckon they think people will buy one or two mags and then give up. They must calculate it to make a profit. |

This is actually a die cast model, so is very high quality, its not an 'airfix' type thing.
