Dream Guest Writers

Who would you love to have as a guest writer on Doctor Who?
Doesn't have to be probable, just whoever takes your fancy.
What kind of episode would you like them to write, which foes would the Doctor face?

I'd love to see an episode from Pendleton Ward, the creator of Adventure Time.
He's great at doing experimental off-the wall stories, with weird but lovable characters.

And I'd love Robert Shearman to write something with the Celestial Toymaker.
He's a great surrealist writer, who could write a real mind**** story with the master of games.

Who'd you like to see write an episode?

Yep, came here to say this. He's a big fan of the show and I'm sure he's got plenty of ideas, so I could see it happening!

Comic writers John Wagner and Pat Mills

They co-wrote 4 Fourth Doctor stories for Doctor Who Magazine and Mills wrote 3 Big Finish audios, one of which was based on a story idea he and Wagner had submitted to the editors in the 80s

J. K. Rowling.
Perhaps a stand-alone two parter.

I agree. If his excellent black mirror is anything to go by, an episode from him could well be amazing.

Also stephen king would be a good choice. That man's dark imagination with the established world of the show would be interesting.

I also have to add Russell T Davies, since he seems realistically unlikely to write for the show again any time soon with all he has going on, and so falls into this dream category at the moment, but in an ideal world he is probably the person I'd most be interested to see what he could do with 12 after his brilliant work with 9 and 10. Lets not forget most of what are generally considered to Moffats greatest episodes were when he was working for RTD so maybe doing it for someone else makes good writers even better and it could be that RTD could write his greatest episode(s) yet under Moffat.

That would be awesome. I could just imagine it now.

The Doctor: say my name

Daleks: IT IS THE DOCTOR!

The Doctor: Your damn right it is

Another could be

The Doctor: It seems to me that you have two options, Option A : you exterminate me right here, right now

Dalek : WHAT IS OPTION B?

The Doctor: Run.

Okay I need this in my life now

I'd love to see what Kurt Sutter writer of Sons of Anarchy would do with the show

I've been re-watching the brilliant Ripper Street recently so how about Jamie Crichton and Richard Warlow, both very experienced character driven writers.

This is only tangential to the topic, but I've often wondered how a Farscape style take on the Doctor Who theme would sound.
