Motorola Moto G 4G question
Recently (early) upgraded to the Motorola Moto G 4G, I'm loving the phone so far. But I have one little question. Basically I have GPS on, and I go to turn it off I get the message 'GPS and Assist GPS needs to be on and set to high accuracy mode in order to detect your location and activity'. Is there anyway to turn off this notification?

EDIT: yes you can!- go to Settings, Apps, Assist, and untick 'show notifications' and the message stops when you turn off GPS.
Having GPS turned on all the time does not use up battery power, it only actually uses GPS when needed (you sometimes see the GPS location icon appear by the clock notification bar when active) - I have it on all the time and still get 2 days battery usage typically. Unless you have a specific need to turn off GPS then it's better left on all the time as it only actually does anything when needed, which tends to be not that often in reality. |

Oh I thought having GPS on drained the battery. Fair dos no real need to turn it off then.
Thank you |

Try it and see, certainly on my 3G Moto G I found no difference with it on all the time or switched off....I find it useful that the phone knows where I am when I use a feature and it can respond quickly. It does of course track my every movements as I've allowed Google to see where I am etc.

If you don't want to be part of the great Google experiment, don't use Android :-/ |

They can do that other ways too, via mobile mast (cell tower) and via WiFi network IDs, even if you're not connected to that WiFi.
