A good time to launch the sixth series of Big Brother don't you think?

I won't say anymore - for now!

You can bet that Tony Bliar (deliberate mis-spelling) is the biggest BB fan ever, that's when he's not watching Jackie Milburn play for Newcastle, seated behind the goal!...

Is it going to start on May 5th or is it just a suggestion?

It would be an ideal time to test the validity of the recent report that suggested young people are more likely to vote for a BB eviction than in a General Election.

And maybe they could let Davina and Dimbleby swap jobs for a laugh.

And the slogan..........'let the REAL voting begin'

It would be nice to think that our wonderful leader could put his feet up (in number 10, of course ) and relax after a hectic but hugely successful campaign, and watch a bit of telly before buckling down to his job of despensing wisdom and justice.

Bloody hell

May 5th?

I've just realised that it's only in about a month's time.

It just feels that BB5 wasn't that long ago.

It's a weird feeling when it comes round again so quick you don't realise how fast time has flown since BB5.

Aren't these reports always based on counting the number of votes rather than the number of voters?

Anyway, I'm not sure I'm ready for another BB.

There are so many reality shows now, and the other day I ran across a tape I made early in BB3. I'd thought BB3 was one of the best, but it was so dull.

That would be over 3 weeks earlier a start than last year - do you think that's really likely (unless the rumours it will last 15 weeks are true) ?

Personally I'll wait for confirmation from C4 before I put it on my calender

Where did this date come from? I hope it's true but as said, Big Brother usually starts the 3rd week of May.

Ooh. That's too soon for my liking! I'm underprepared! *panics*

But still, woo, Big Brother sooner!

BIG mistake to put BB on at the same time as the footy season is running, it's better left in the gap vacated by football

I think that's because BB is something that you live for the moment. Things that you get worked up about often seem tame when you go back to it.
I've recently watched a bit of BB5 and I still enjoy it, mainly because of the comic genius of Victor. I'd forgotten how funny he was......

HARDLY! there is no World cup or European cup this year so why not?

there's more than that going on.If you're a football fan it consumes you 24/7 the same that BB can. I don't want to be watching BB when there's so much domestically to be decided. I'm looking forward to an Arsenal-Man Utd Cup final. I want Southampton to be relegated-Rupert Lowe deserves it. I want to see West Ham win the play-offs (some hope!). I want to see Yeovil get promoted. I want all of this out of the way before BB starts.
Don't forget that the World Cup in 2002 was played in Asia so all of the games were played in the morning so it didn't affect BB3. Next years World Cup will affect BB, if it's still going......

Its been more than 7 and a half months since BB5 finished! I guess it feels like it wasn't that long ago because we had CBB in January. Because of CBB, I don't think BB should start on May 5th, it should be Friday, May 27th, 8.30pm and I would love to see it last for 15 weeks but only if there is a good house with 14 lively housemates who will be able to keep the show going. I got sick of the BB5 house by about week 6 so can only hope this years house is of a modern/groovy style.

But none the less,

BRING ON BB6!

agreed

I hope the house is a combination of futuristic and retro a la BB aussie

Yeah, I'd like a futuristic house, it hasn't been done yet so it would be really good to see it

Please noooooooo, i've got my final exam SATURDAY, May 28th, 09H15

Mind you in previous years we've had the launch show then nothing on proper telly (i.e. Freeview) till the Monday evening IIRC, so i could just PVR it...

By starting a few weeks later they wouldn't have the issues of some contestants having to miss there final exams, as well as some of there viewers being two busy to watch the opening weeks.

For those who didn't get the original suggested date of 5th May, that is the day of the General Election to elect the Prime Mister for the next up to 5 years (the Prime Minister decides when to have an election, but it must be at most 5 years since the previous election).

Also, I heard it was going to last 4 months (from start of May to end of August)? True/false?

This would be interesting, since I am an avid BB fan. I like it a lot!

Black Friday seems like only yesterday.... Don't think it'll be the same date as the election though!

Perhaps this would suggest that it will be all up to the public this time?
