Katy Perry to dis Taylor Swift during Superbowl
Quote:
It’s no secret that Katy Perry, 30, and Taylor Swift, 25, have one of the biggest ongoing feuds in Hollywood. Now that Taylor has taken over the music scene with huge success from 1989, Katy wants to “show she is the biggest female act,” while performing at the 2015 Super Bowl. HollywoodLife.com can EXCLUSIVELY reveal what Katy has up her sleeve! http://hollywoodlife.com/2015/01/03/...l-performance/“Katy is in complete rehearsal mode for her Super Bowl performance, she wants to make it feel like a complete party and something that will be remembered forever” “She wants to make a statement with her performance and show that she is the biggest female act in the world and she wants to show that to everyone including Taylor, who she has a feud with. In Katy’s eyes, no one can compete on her level,” our source continues. “Katy will be doing something on stage during her performance that will be directed towards Taylor. She is working on it to be a visual or a lyric related jab". All I can say is, how sad if this is true. Why waste this opportunity like this |

I would hardly call it one of the biggest ongoing fueds in hollywood
Especially as it has all been one sided from Taylor's part, and the fued is all speculation based one song Taylor did. |

If previous form is anything to go by, she'd be best off focusing on her live vocals.

So, she should better invest in the sound mixing. |

IF true (and that's a big if, coming from that source) then it's pathetic.
I think Katy is treading on dangerous territory too. Taylor's career is going from strength to strength and she's befriending so many people in the industry (Jay Z, Beyonce and Justin Timberlake were all recently at her birthday party). The more Katy disses her or does these pathetic spiteful acts (trying to sabotage her tour etc) then the more enemies she will make imo. Also, again IF true, Katy should spend more time practising her live vocals and dance moves. She isn't exactly the most talented person out there. |

If she really is the biggest female act in the world then she shouldn't need to diss anyone else. Also, she isn't a good role model to her fans by being bitchy. Yep, Taylor is no stranger to this either, but Katy would come out of it really well if she said that the more singer/songwriter female artists in the chart the better. No chance of her doing that though.

Katy gets others to do her dirty work for her. Didn't her boyfriend and brother both tweet negative things about Taylor very close to release week of 1989?
I can see why she is upset. Taylor has taken her sound into pure pop territory and beaten Katy at her own game. |

Hasn't been live for quite a while though. No-one would criticise Katy for miming in this instance.
It's not like, the music equipment was better 20 years ago. |

Microphones are live. Instruments aren't.

Superbowl is so much more worth than a music performance at them. Superbowl is obligated to deliver a pefrect show and not an artistic milestone. The voice is pre-recorded and if there is a micro open for banter with the crowd, why not. Superbowl sells us an perfect illusion and the performer who pays for the performance, with his own money, a promo opportunity, simple as that. |

Pretty sure the Stones, McCartney etc. all played live for their Superbowl gigs within the last ten years and these are men who are pensioners. Surely much younger popstars who are in their prime should be held to the same standards.
The Who didn't play live, it was discussed at that time and they also didn't play live at the Olympic opening. |

I suggest you go back and watch a few...not all artists performing are pre-recorded. Prince vocals certainly weren't.
We are here in the music forum and some of you think, music is everything, it's not. |

Lol, the Stones are commerial as it can gets and McCartneys voice isn't live the best (have you heard him at the Grammys?) so he will felt a relief to mime.
The Who didn't play live, it was discussed at that time and they also didn't play live at the Olympic opening. I would much rather see a proper live performance that's a little raw or rough around the edges than something super stage-managed and mimed. Did Bruno Mars sing live last year? Probably. |

Well yes it's a music forum...if it's not music then it should be moved to showbiz.
