I know that the celebs were mostly z-list and the routines were getting a bit samey, but a few changes would have extended the life of the show.

I miss that it's not started again today, I wonder if there's any hope of an ice skating/dancing show in the future.

I don't know why they needed to axe it, 5 million watching it is not that bad.

The last series final would have been better with Ray, Suzanne and Jorgie.

Indeed, thats probably the best 3 available, although Kyran and Sam were highly regarded by the professionals too. The final series showed Dancing on Ice was suffering from a bad case of terminally bad, inconsistent judging, dull choregraphy, unfair allocation of routines, and a massive ITV soap factor in its voting. It may have not been saveable except with a lot of culling anyway.

Still there is a wopping great gap there in the schedules, there's probably people who could still could be cast, and you could find choregraphers, better music, and better qualified judges - even from pros and celebs who have been on the show.

ITV don't seem that good at inventing good new ideas, and sticking with them when they do . Splash had potential - even if diving is too fast to fill a show - they just needed to cast it more like the Jump has with better known people who look good in swimwear. . The jump is a terrible idea - the action is too fast and too dangerous, and the standards reached too low - but its been brilliantly cast. ITV could have put on the BBC gymnastics thing, and reused some of their DOI stars, who wanted a free get fit course, again in that. Anything would be better than the current hole in the schedule.
