Neighbours 2015

Looks pretty good! Love the new theme tune, perfect for the 30th year and the actor + character names in the titles are a nice touch.

Brilliant. Really fresh and I like the addition of actor names, just like H&A used to do (ie when it was still a good show).

My first look initial observations....

The titles themselves look good, and flow really nicely.....just wait till someone leaves, I bet the flow will end up a bit jumpy..... bit like on the previous opening titles where all of a sudden no was was catching the previous thing thrown from the other person, which use to link each of the family shots together.

Also, anyone think Susan has a 'face like thunder' on her and Karl's shot. Everyone else looks really happy, but Susan looks like she's 'on one' that day? Could of at least tried to look happy to be in Ramsay St.

Finally, so far I am preferring the end theme version of the song. No doubt tho the UK will prob get the opening theme used as the credits theme too, as the opening song is 35 secs, and the long end theme is 55 secs.

Well that's typical Neighbours about a decade behind H&A on some things. About about a decade ahead on others.

True this is. Though nowadays I'd say Neighbours is pretty much ahead on everything.

Nice. Very sleek. I like that Bossy is in the credits.

This is just GREAT! I think that Neighbours gradually lost some of its identity with the more recent changes in theme tune and logo.

This theme is one of the strongest nods back to the themes of the 1980s and 90s, while retaining a contemporary feel.

As for the logo, it's absolutely fantastic. The Neighbours script was a strong part of the show's brand and I was quite shocked that they did away with it.

Brilliant all round for me.

Love the titles (although agreed Susan's expression is odd) but the theme tune is still insipid. Marginally better.

This link has the opening and closing theme.

I have nitpicks but I'm not going to be fussy. It's a lot better than I feared it might be and that's the main thing. I like how they have used some of the new exterior sets that were purposely built for the show, like the Willis' back garden and Sonia's Nursery. Some of the shots aren't that imaginative but overall there is a nice relaxed feel to them.

Who is the singer? He sounds really familiar!

Actor and character names (and having opening titles at all!) just adds to the long list of things Neighbours is doing right that H&A isn't.

Does anyone know who the vocalist is? I don't know why but it still sounds very cheap and fake if that makes sense. The previous theme was a HUGE mistake and a screeching mess that is best forgotten. The 2015 theme is a vast improvement but still not perfect and bit samey compared to the last few efforts.

Both the theme and the titles are respectful of the originals and the show itself. However, I still think that they should have returned to the original theme (mark II) and just updated it instead of these countless guitar versions we keep getting.

It's nice to have the actual theme and lyrics back instead of just excerpts, however, it is highly likely that Channel 5 will chop it to bits in order in order to squeeze it into their programme schedule along with shrinking the credits into a corner so as we cannot enjoy them in all their glory.

Finally, I love the new logo and again it is respectful of the original one, but they should have joined on the 'N' which looks a bit lost compared to the rest of it and really given a nod to the very first one used. I can live with the theme, but there are elements of the original one missing which I think could have easily been included in order for the fans to reminisce on the golden days even further. Thank god they shelved the previous one involving the singing competition, both the idea and the end result were AWFUL.

The only problem with the previous 2013/2014 Theme was that bloody Aussie woman screeching her head off. The male vocal from Daniel Boys was OK and at least in tune.

Back to the 2015 theme, I have hit play on YouTube about 20 times now, and am starting to think a female vocal would work/sound better? The woman who sang the 2002-2006 theme song would work well on this backing track.

I don't think we are ever going to see 'Just a friendly wave each morning' or 'Next door is only a footstep away' make a return any time soon......If ever to be honest!?!?

Yes its good the opening song has the 'should be there for one another' bit still included....and at least the opening and closing songs are at the same speed. The mess they made last year by spreading up the opening theme, made it too fast and you could not keep up at home when singing along. (we all sing along at home right??)

As for end credits, yes it does bug me that C5 INSISTS on talking through them every day without fail....hence the reason why for the past 2 years or so I have been watching/recording the 3pm 5* episode. Nice clean credits every single day.

True. Though Neighbours could take some tips on lighting from H&A. It's at the top of it's game there.

There is no ' Previously ' text, instead it is noe heard at the beginning by a character.. The recap is still before the opening titles.

Aussie episodes have a short end theme for mon-thurs ep..... I would imagine UK episodes will close with the opening music!

Nive new titles, logo etc, feels like it suits Neighbours. The theme tune, at last, is unmistakably Neighbours again, they've stuck to the original tune yet it sounds modern while keeping the nostalgia and the original chord changes etc. A good job that fits the show in it's current healthy state.

I love them!! Especially at the end how the camera pans past Karl and Susan and then overhead Ramsay street almost symbolising they are Neighbours
