Let's get digital

Let's get digital

We know you love social media. We’ve seen you. You can’t leave that smartphone alone for a second. But this isn’t an intervention – instead, we’re going to provide social media addicts such as yourselves with all kinds of Big Brother brilliance.

We’re all over Twitter – the official Big Brother account is @bbuk, where you’ll get the biggest news, behind-the-scenes gossip, and the latest from Emma and Rylan. And there’s also our meticulous @bbuklive account, where you can catch all the goings on in the House as they happen.

If you’re fed up of mates ranting about their commute or endless pictures of your friend’s baby, you can liven up your Facebook feed with breaking news from the House. If video snippets are more your thing, you’ll be pleased to hear we’re on Vine. And if that’s not enough, we’ll also be bringing you a backstage view from the Bit on the Side studio over on Instagram.

Finally, for total ‘appiness, download the official Big Brother app, now available for iPhone, and for the first time, Android. News, gossip, regular polls that will shape the action in the House, and the opportunity to buy vote credits to evict a housemate, all in the one fingertip-pleasing package.

So there you have it. The complete BB experience from the comfort of your smartphone, tablet or computer. What are you waiting for?

That Filmon link is perfectly safe if you're anti-ad protected and have any of the usual anti-virus protection on.
Seeing as you keep saying you have a problem with it, perhaps you should check your software and make sure you haven't downloaded the virus laden software instead

Now I'm no computer expert... but I've been using a similar link for a week with no problems, just normal anti virus, ad block and clean up stuff.
Maybe should put the new line up through the same.

You've been branded 'the most hated woman in Britain'. Are you hoping to show people another side?
No! I haven't got a thing to prove. I'm not trying to show people that I'm nice. I'm just going in to do 'Katie'. People might think that actually Katie isn't a bitch 100 per cent of the time. I think there is a funnier side to me, but equally I may come out as the biggest bitch in Britain again and that is also totally acceptable.

Is there a difference between the Katie who voices the controversial opinions and then the normal one at home?
I think they're pretty much the same actually. Clearly, if you distill that person into a tweet or you distill that person into a radio segment, you're going to get it a little more in your face. I think it's the same person, I just think I have really strong views on most things. It really annoys me that so many people don't have more views on stuff! Have a view at least. I know that's not for everybody because you then have to be accepting of the flak.

Do you really believe all of the things that you say?
That's an easy way to dismiss someone. I completely understand why it would be comfortable to dismiss someone who is disagreeing with something you're saying as 'just doing it for effect'. But I think that's simplistic, because you would have to question why some gobby blonde bird from the south west of England says something that gets 17 million people viewing it. You have to be savvier than it just being controversial. It has to connect with something that a lot of people think or definitely don't think. So something like me saying, "I would never call my child Tyler because that's a ridiculous name", we know that a lot of us think that when we call our child Hector or Sebastian; we have an idea of where that name will take us in life.

Is there anyone you'd hate to be in the House with?
Any fat person. That is quite a broad spectrum. I have no empathy for a fat person. I really hope there might just be one person in there who is funny, clever, witty, well-read or who has spent a lifetime performing on the stage. Something like that would be amazing.

People may try to draw you into arguments...
There will be people trying to get their moment of telly by annoying me, so I will swat them away. But then if you get some people who actually think what they're saying and believe it then sure, I'll probably go for that. People will get pretty much what they have seen before from me, which is straight-talking Katie.

You said the show was too raunchy for you last year?
It was! There will be no lust in the House while I am there. They know the cameras are there and if that is the best you've got to keep yourself on a TV programme then your armoury is pretty lacking.

Will you be bothered if there is a bad reaction when you leave?
No. Silence would be worse! You'd probably run back inside the House. That would freak you out!

You've famously fallen out with lots of celebrities. Will any of them worry about what you might say about them in there?
Probably, yes. There are things in the news agenda now that I would like to get off my chest. That is one of the joys of this, CBB has the potential of being one of the last vestiges of being able to say what you think.

Have you ever considered toning it down a bit?
No. I think what people might say is, 'hold on, she's not a complete cow' and they may think that is a different Katie we're seeing, but what they'll be seeing is Katie 24/7.

What made you say yes?
I have been a fan of the show for so long and it has gone through so many changes. I have always watched the celebrity ones but this past summer I watched the civilian one and was really gripped by it. I think it said a lot about how relevant it still is. I'm 47 in March and I really wanted to do this before I'm 50.

A lot of people go on to change how the public perceives them. Is that the case for you?
Honestly, I think I am just interested in seeing how mentally tough I am. I have got very involved in meditating in the last few years and you can just sit outside and look at the sky or a tree and how often do people do that anymore. Everyone is glued to their phone and I think meditation is an amazing addition to my life.

Are you a good listener?
I'm interested in what other people have to say. Like, what are your three favourite cheeses? To me that is a really important question. Do you like a stinky bishop? I am really excited about going in the House. I think the best thing about being where I am in my life now is that I don't care what anyone else thinks about me, apart from my two sons. They are the only people that could say no and I would listen.

What do they think about you going on the show?
They think it's funny. My eldest son, James, is 22, and he says it like it is. I'm really looking forward to it and I'll probably be first out but I'm pleased to have been asked.

You must have a lot of celebrity stories to tell. Will there be people out there worried about what you might say?
It's like a doctor discussing their patients. Maybe there is a time and a place to talk about things, but this is not really the right environment to talk about it.

Do you think Liam will be watching?
We have got an amazing child and everything is cool. Our lives are all very separate. I've never said a bad word about either of my boys' dads because there is no reason to.

How will you approach your time in the House?
My new year's resolution was to really live in the moment because I have spent most of my life worrying and working. I am really trying to live in the moment and that is why I am trying not to complain and to take it all in. I'll never do it again and I’ve got nothing to hide. I know myself and I know who I am. You're either going to love me or hate me and I don't really care.

Do you have any bad habits that might annoy your housemates?
Apparently I speak in my sleep and I snore. Everyone is going to grate on each other. I love the show on the first night when everyone goes in and says 'it's lovely to see you', then seven days later they're killing each other! I just love it.

What made you want to come over here and do Big Brother?
Well, I am officially a celebrity now or will be when I enter the Big Brother House. But this last year was a big one for me. I celebrated many milestones, one of which was my ten year anniversary of blogging. I started in September 2004 and while I have a lot of awareness, people know the name Perez Hilton, but people don't know who I really am. So it was an exciting opportunity to show a whole bunch of people the real me.

What do you want them to see?
Hopefully, as time goes on, if I'm lucky enough to stay in the House, they'll discover the difference between the persona and the character and the person behind that.

Is there a big gap between the two?
Absolutely. I definitely brought fun outfits that Perez would definitely wear but I wouldn't wear in my everyday a life, but this is work and fun. I'm there to have fun and it is a job too. So I wanted to bring Perez's best looks out.

So do you see yourself as a celebrity now?
I don't really see myself as a celebrity because that is a different kind of fame. I have notoriety or infamy more than celebrity. I am probably not wanted in as many places as I am wanted. I am probably more disliked than I am liked. And that is fine. I'm still in the Big Brother House and I love my life. I'm happy.

So do you want people to see that you're a nice guy really?
I think that is for people to decide. I like to think that I am a nice guy. A lot of people have this notion of who I used to be as their current notion of who I still am and that isn't the person that I currently am. I have grown over the years and I have matured. I used to say if someone doesn't like what I say they shouldn't read my website. That is a really young, naïve thing to say. I'm excited to just have fun and expect the unexpected.

You're a dad now. Is that part of the reason for trying to change?
No. I'm just smart and I know that if I want to have longevity, people need to become invested in me as a person. That is why Kim Kardashian is so successful. The people who like her really like her and they are invested in her. I want to be working in another ten years and to do that you need fans. I don't have any fans, I have readers and I don't have a lot of likability. I'm not viewing it as a game, I'm viewing it as fun and I am really going to be myself. And I am confident in who that person is. I am fun and fabulous and fearless. Those are my three words and I have been repeating them a lot!

Is it harder to come over and do this as an American?
There has only ever been one American that has won and that happened last season. So the chances of it happening two seasons consecutively are very slim. Having said that anything is possible!

Do you have a good idea of who is in the House?
It's my job to know things! I'm more curious to hear about these people and hear their stories because a lot of them are older and have had long careers. But I'm happy to share stories. I'm an open book. I may not share immediately. That might be one way to play a game. You've got to keep viewers wanting more. I'm smarter than your average bear!

What do you think about people who play games?
I see right through them. I invented the game. I know how to bend the rules. I've already bent the rules.

What made you want to do it?
I spoke to a couple of people who have done it and had various results. One won and the other didn't!

Will you feel like you have to entertain people in the House?
I think there is a difference between entertaining a bunch of what you might call ‘normal’ people and entertaining a bunch if egocentrics who don’t like anyone being funnier than they are. Or even, in my case, more attractive.

How long do you think you'll be in the House?
I'm not interested in winning it really. I like to participate and enjoy the experience; it's an irrelevance to me when I leave. I've done one or two cooking shows and been kicked off at the first stage and they said, 'Why are you smiling to be kicked off?' But it's the doing of it really that is the interesting thing.

Is there anyone you wouldn't want to see in the House?
I don't think so, no. The wife's working tomorrow! But I know what twisted minds there are working in this project!

Is there anything you're worried about?
Only if I lose my temper, which I do occasionally, and there will be the most violent outburst of volatile filth you have ever heard in your life and it will come like a volcano. I shall have to be very careful to tame it.

What bad habits annoy you?
Personal uncleanliness and smelling. Just being vile.

How will you handle a bad reaction from the crowd?
I'll encourage it. I'll set it to music. Let the bile flow and get it out of your systems! Booing is good. At pantomimes we encourage it and it releases something. It's only right and proper that they should boo. I think just walking on in what I'll be wearing will be enough to get it going.

Why do you want to go into the House?
I thought it'd be a great opportunity to show the UK who I really am and have a good time!

What will you bring to the House?
I'll bring a lot of teeny-weeny bikinis that I plan to be in about 99 per cent of the time. Those and my shoes - you've got to walk around in heels!

What have you been doing to prepare?
They're either going to love me or hate me, so I'll just go in, do my thing, come out and win!

So you're in it to win it?
I am very competitive so winning is the only option.

Is there a public perception that you want to change by going in the House?
The public has me attached to my ex and I don't want that. I am my own person and I want them to know that this is who I am and not this person's ex.

Do you think you'll shock people?
I think it's more what I say that will shock people. I have no filter. I say it like I mean it. It will be so much fun.

How will you deal with people who have a problem with you?
I'll be like, "I'm sorry, you have bad taste!" If somebody gives me a mouthful I will lecture them and they'll go to the Diary Room and start crying, asking them to get them out of there.

Would anything make you quit?
No. I never back down. I'm a winner, remember?

Are you open to a relationship?
No. I'll flirt and there will be boozy nights, but don't think you're putting a ring on it because I'm not about that life anymore.

Are there any types of people you'll struggle to live with?
I struggle with people who are similar to me. It's hard to have type A personalities who clash a lot. I get along better with men. They get my humour, but girls are like, 'Did she really just say that?'. I do get along better with guys until they try to sleep with me and then I have to find a new friend.

Calum Best

Why do you want to go into the House?
The biggest reason for me is that now, at 33, being good in my health, good in my head and my soul, I just want to show people the kind of person that I am now. The last time I did a national TV show was ten years ago and that was Love Island. I was 24 years old and I have been through so much between then and now. I've come from such a dark place of losing my dad, then drinking and partying every single night to training and eating well. My head is so much clearer than it ever was. I still have some demons and insecurities but the last two years have been some of the best of my life.

So you're not going in as the sex symbol?
There have been press pieces saying Calum is going in to sex up the show and it's like, 'Are you serious?' I'd be taking 20 steps backwards if I had sex on national television.

So the partying is all behind you?
I indulge, but I'm not going on here to chase girls. That's not my vibe at all. It was at some point in my life. But I'm no born again Christian. I will still go on here and have some fun. I have no problem in getting my kit off. I'll be cruising around in my underwear, but I am a different person.

So there's no chance of a relationship?
If there is a girl and something evolves organically then I like the idea of going in there and getting on with somebody, but it isn't a focus of mine. My focus is going in there and making some cool friends having some banter and if something organically came about then let it be.

Are you a good housemate?
I like to think I am well-mannered and charming and will keep the peace as much as possible. If someone was really rude to someone then you would have to step in and be like that is a bit much. I like to think that I am a leader in some ways. I am happily going in offering to cook every night and I'll do the cleaning up. I'm quite good in those ways. I'm no diva. I might pull a strop or two but I don't plan on it!

Will your famous exes need to worry about what you might say?
No, that's not my style. I wouldn't really talk about other people's things. I don't think anybody needs to be worried about anything. I'm not a kiss and tell, that's horrendous.

And what if one was in the House?
I don't think I'd have a problem with any ex. If I saw an ex I'd be like, 'Good to see you, let's make this the best situation we can'. If they thought different then we would have to figure it out!

What would your Dad have said?
He'd probably have been like, 'What are you doing son?'. I'd like to think my dad would be like, 'Good on you, son. I'm proud of you, go in there and do your best. Hopefully people will like it and enjoy it and if they don't, well, at least you gave it a shot'.

What is your greatest fear going in to the House?
Getting in a big row. I don't want to have a serious kick off. I have a pretty bad temper, but for me to lose it would have to be pretty severe. I just hope there are problems with other people and I can watch from a distance!

What made you say yes?
It's an opportunity to introduce myself to a new audience and for people to see the real me. I don't think I have given people a chance to meet the real me before.

So do you think people have inaccurate preconceptions about you?
Yes. I was a model and I was partying and dating a string of celebrities, but I have grown up since then. I've got two kids. I am a completely different person but I am still tarred with the same brush, so I think it will be nice for people to see who I really am.

What do your kids think about it?
Well, one is only three, but the 19 year old is excited. I think she's worried about what will come out of my mouth but she is excited because all of her friends watch it.

You've spoken about relationships that you've had with famous men. Will they be worried about what you might say?
Yes, of course they will be worried! If they know me, they know that I am very honest and sometimes I say things by mistake that shouldn't really come out, especially if I am relaxed and talking to people. I'll try not to talk about it but if I am in a conversation, I will be honest because it's part of my life. It's not just their life, it's my life as well.

Do you have any fears about the House?
Arguments. I'm hoping I won't get into any major arguments. I'm sure I will because that is part of the show, but I'm hoping I can come out unscarred from any arguments. I love a good argument, I'm the first one there, but I hope I'll avoid them!

Is there anyone you'd hate to share the House with?
There are rumors about Katie Hopkins. I definitely do not want to be in a house with her. And any ex-boyfriends would be a bit embarrassing.

Who would you love to see in there?
Jack Nicholson, Channing Tatum and Simon Cowell! Simon is a gentleman so I would be happy to be in there with him.

What bad habits do you hate?
I can't stand people who snore. I will not be able to sleep if someone snores. I'll throw something at them because it is really annoying! Manners are important. We are all in the same House and the same show, but if there is anyone in there who thinks they are the same person they were in the 80s or whenever then that will grate on me after a while!

Is there anyone you've seen on the show and thought they did a good job?
I saw the Lee Ryan one with Casey Batchelor and Jasmine Waltz. I thought it was a really good show and I would have been one of those gullible girls!

Would you give advice to any younger celebs on the show?
No! It's a game show isn't it? I want to win and I'm not there to help other people, I'm trying to get to the end myself! I'm very competitive, that would be one of my flaws.

Will you help with the cooking?
I don't cook and I don't clean. I make green smoothies. If you can't make it in a VitaMix, then that's it. I'm going to try and get a VitaMix in there because otherwise I'll starve!

Would you like to meet someone in the House?
Well, I'm single, so it is a possibility but I would definitely not want to be stuck in a love triangle, it is so humiliating and it would always be me that was left out! I'd definitely like to meet someone if there are enough single guys in there. I would like to meet someone because it'd pass some time and you'd really get to know them!

What made you sign up?
It's a challenge and I like challenges. I'll try to win this thing! I'm in it to stay as long as they do what they do. I don't have any control over that anyway. That's what I said when I said yes - trying to go the whole hog.

Why do you think you've been so popular in the UK?
Britain pretty much told the rest of the world who Alexander O'Neal was before anybody really knew. It's been great for almost 30 years. It's a wonderful relationship and so far so good.

Will you sing around the House?
I doubt it. I don't sing around my house so I know I won't be singing around the Big Brother House! If people ask me to sing, I brought my band with me - I've got them in my suitcase.

What would you like to get out of the experience personally?
It's a test for me, and a test of my patience. Patience is not a friend of mine! It's the challenge of doing something so different because Big Brother is everything that Alexander O'Neal is not. I'm a very private person. I don't hang out with people. I'm never around people. Not like this. When I'm on my own time it's just my wife and me. So this is going to be very different!

Do you have any bad habits that might annoy others?
I don't give a damn. I really don't. I'm here to govern me. I can't tell what irritates other people. What would you like the reaction to be when you leave? I'm hoping it will be, 'Well done Alex'. That's my goal. I know I am a good person and a kind person. I know I can handle situations with other people whether it's controversy or something positive. So that is my goal, to come out and for people to get a little more insight into Alexander O'Neal. But I've got to be straight with you and that is pretty much what you're going to get from Alex all day, every day.

So will you step in if someone is being picked on?
I'd probably say you're a grown up, you can handle that! Handle your business, man! I'm not trying to do all that. And we don't need all that drama. I'm not here to be a bad man, but I'm not here to be this older wiser guy who's got advice. I'm trying to find out what I want to be when I grow up and I'm 61. I've got my own stuff to deal with and I'm trying to focus on that.

Are you nervous?
The only thing I'm nervous about is actually going in because you look such a prat going up those stairs.

So what made you say yes?
I'm a daytime TV presenter, I've got a brilliant family, a lovely husband, beautiful children and a lovely job. The other thing is that it's going to be huge fun. It'll be a test but all my family are weirdos and nutters so I'm already prepared for it!

People know you from Loose Women, so we're guessing you'll have plenty opinions to share?
I'm paid to have an opinion so I am an opinionated person. I don't look for confrontation but I would describe myself as feisty but fair. What I can't take is someone who isn't kind. If somebody just really isn't a very nice person then I will have a rub up with them. I can't hide it if I don't like somebody.

Who would you hate to meet in there?
Joan Collins isn't in, is she? There are a lot of rumours about who is in there, but I'll wait until I'm in there to judge. It's rumoured that Katie Hopkins is going in, but I suspect that she acts a lot of what she says because I don't think anyone could be that nasty. I think it's for business because it gets her work. I'm hoping that I meet her and she is actually quite nice because I've heard on the grapevine that she is actually quite funny. People can win me round if they're funny!

You won Celebrity Masterchef. Will you be happy to cook for people?
I love to cook for people! My mum's only bit of advice was, 'Don't take over the kitchen because people hate people who take over the kitchen on reality shows'. Her only advice was 'don't cook' which is hilarious because all I ever do is cook. I have two cookery columns, I write cookery books. But I have this fear that Big Brother will say you're not allowed to cook which will be really hard because I hate other people cooking!

Arguments can spiral into huge incidents in this House. Will you be able to avoid getting dragged in?
I think I read things quite well. I don't think I will get dragged into something I don't want to, but that's not to say I won't get dragged in. I'll walk in!

What will you miss most when you're in the House?
Animals. My mum rescues dogs so I have a couple of dogs with my Mum that are my best friends and I have a Pug at home. That'll be the weirdest part, not having them in my life.

Is there anyone you wouldn't like to see in there?
I have been around the best of the best and the worst of the worst. I'm going in there with everything I am and everything I've been through and I'm going to share it with a lot of people who have been through a lot of stuff themselves. Who knows? I'm eager to go and live it.

Will you still be looking to have fun in spite of all that?
Absolutely! I like to have fun with everything I do. I was thinking maybe we should all write a song in there. I'm just going to go in, roll the dice and see what happens. I don't know anybody's history. They may or may not know mine but that doesn't really matter to me because at face value, good or bad, everybody has a story.

Have you brought your Baywatch shorts for the hot tub?
I wore them already. They demanded it. I may or may not have humped the camera lens. I may or may not have turned it into a G-string. I can't remember!

You must be proud of the show though?
Absolutely. It was a huge opportunity, it's a double-edged sword. I think I could have been a more successful businessman if I had never been on Baywatch. But I've been on the number one TV show in the history of the world, had two top ten hit albums, produced 200 fashion shows in 15 countries and 35 states for Ed Hardy, pretty much risen to the top of the fitness industry and then won multiple gold medals in jujitsu. I pretty much crush everything I touch. I am committed. We'll just have to see what happens in this next chapter of my life. Whatever I do it has never been enough. No matter how buff I have been it was never enough. No matter how many millions I have made it was never enough. I always wanted more and I never saw what I had in front of me until I looked back a couple of years later. Then I was like, 'Why didn't I enjoy it?'
