I don't think the Saturdays have ever really hit the heights that everyone expected. They have not had a number one hit and when you look back at their music it is quite bland for pop music.

Well obviously people are interested because they are commenting on this thread and I repeated it because people are believing and assuming they have been dropped when they are still signed to their record label.

Sad but goes to show that you can't just create a band with a load of models.
Frankie and Molly cannot sing a note, and were obviously there just for aesthetics. Vanessa was probably the best talent and hopefully we will see more of her. |

The Saturdays have probably been quietly dropped. At some point this year i suspect they formally announce a split due to wanting to concentrate on their children and focus on solo work.
It'd make no sense to do another album when a line of albums have flopped so badly. Chasing Lights went platinum - tick! Wordshaker flopped... Re-release in the form of Headlines - sold enough to get them near platinum overall combining both, next On Your Radar - amazing album - 3 singles preceding still flops/underperforms USA series and album - flopped too Living For The Weekend - flops People then a presume a GH album may enhance their fanbase as it did for GA - presumed wrong- GH flops too and single this time as well (the singles normally did well). There's nothing more than this band can too. They've had 4 albums and a GH record, i am happy with that. It's the right time. Frankie's had this exposure from Strictly. Rochelle is doing very well with the presenting. Una is doing The Voice and has just had another label and i just sense that she's eager to do a solo record. Vanessa and Molly aren't doing much but i suspect they are planning to. To be honest for a band that only really had their debut do well and the other albums flop or drastically under perform they've done well to get to this point. They probably live off their endorsements, solo work and touring i suspect. They've had a decent run of singles go into the Top 10 gotta admit that. I'd much rather they split now then another album that is surefire going to flop then they'll awkwardly split. It makes sense after the GH. I've got all the albums bar the GH and they are really decent albums all of them. |

Yes, they did have plenty of hits Rob. I remember most of the early hits in particular. Their top 5 hits in ascending order have been:-
5 Issues 4 Higher 3 Ego 2 Up 1 What About Us? My own top 5 in ascending order have been 5 Forever Is Over 4 Up 3 My Heart Takes Over 2 Higher 1 Issues |

The Shoppers just weren't very good . .
They spent too much time on hair & make-up than on the tunes . . They had literally nothing to say either, they may have nice cleavages, but none of them had a pair of balls under their expensive, silky drawers. . Goodbye girls . . FOREVER ! |

Why are you assuming they have been dropped? No official conformation yet.
I like The Saturdays and their music. I do not care if they haven't had loads of number 1s. They have still had success. |

I have to admit, I think a lot of it has been rushed releases and unsuitable tracks. "Gentleman" is a dog of a song, and there were better songs off that album which had better potential. "What You Waiting For" was as awful as anything and was lucky to get into the Top 40.
I do like them, but to be fair, a split would be for the best. They've gone so far, and six/seven years for a girl group is good going. |

What About Us does prove that they can have a lot of 'low' selling singles and they have a big hit though. I do have a lot of love for The Saturdays, but there decline was in quality as well as sales imo. I loved their depot, Wordshaker & Headline eras, they were so good then. |

I don't think they will announce a split or hiatus. A lot of groups just say nothing nowadays, or say they are pursuing individual projects. And let's be honest, it's not like a split announcement will make front page news.
