It reminded me of when I touring/camping around Ireland with four friends. (though this was unintentional) Three of them were priests, and after getting lost and driving in the pitch black for a while, the boys got out of the car for a wee against a wall. I was annoyed because there was nowhere discrete for me, but I was smug the next morning when we drove past and saw it was a giant Catholic shrine.

I agree there was no excuse at all for that!

Leg update for those interested!

I went back to the hospital this morning and they took the plaster off and xrayed it and the Dr pronounced that it was healing nicely.... healing, not healed.... i'm still not supposed to walk on it and am now in a brace, which they gave me for support (indeed i'm finding it harder to walk without the plaster then with, due to fact my knee is weak and no longer held rigid)at least its more flexible then a plaster and best of all i can take it off at night! So mixed news. But i am just glad to be out of the plaster, though when i first stood up without it. I had to hold on to the bed for dear life and taking a step was very scary indeed as i wobbled all over the place and could barely walk in a straight line! Its beginning to get better though but i'll stick to the crutches. Go back in 4 weeks so hopefully that will be the last time!

At least the plaster is off, you will have to take it easy like me, which is difficult.

I'm walking better as well, it's strange how easy you forget, but it will soon come back, it's getting your confidence back, thats the thing.

Can you put your weight on the leg now or do you have to wait longer to do that?

Its great news Barra. At least "healing nicely" is heading in the right direction and I am sure it will be better soon. I expect you will be sleeping better out of plaster too.

When they say "dont walk on it", how are you supposed to get round?

Hi Barra.:+)))))))))))))

Be careful, you are best using crutches till they give you the OK.
If the break isn't properly healed yet then it's very risky walking on it.

Hi

Every time I read your posts I keep comparing you with my dog Toby ,sorry

He too is recovering from a broken leg but his was done deliberately by a vetinary surgeon. He had a procedure called a TPLO http://vetspecialists.co.uk/Default....1&ObjectType=1 because he snapped his cruciate ligament while out playing in the park. All his problems are the exact opposite of yours. As he has 4 legs he can walk fine without using the broken one so our problem has been and still is getting him to use it.

Morning Mrs Vimes.:+))))))))))))))))))

I suppose the dogs brain told him not to use that leg and nothing has told him he can use it again, it's that language barrier.
You need to know what, "walk on all fours" means in doggie talk.

I can't use the word "walk" as that makes him leap around like a demented being, I have been telling him to "use the leg" heaven knows what that might be in doggy speak

I was just thinking, could you stop him using the opposite good leg somehow, as if that was hurt, strap it up, and when he uses the bad one let it down.
Only a thought.

It's complicated Hicky, first they hoped it was just a small tear so for a week he had to rest it to let it try to heal naturally. Our vet referred him to a specialist orthopedist which added 3 more days to the equation by which time Toby was an expert hopper. Then come 3 weeks when under house arrest during which time he should have been slowly learning to walk on it and would have if he hadn't perfected hopping. Now he is on his rehabilitation phase, walking starts slow 5 minutes twice a day initially increasing by a minute a day till you reach 25 minutes. Dogs legs are the same as humans and take 6 to 8 weeks to knit.

As Toby didn't use the leg for so long the muscles are weak and his joint isn't stable and tends to slip out, this puts him off walking even more. We are now taking him to hydrotherapy *swimming leasons for dogs* hopefully this will strengthen the muscles and stop the joint slipping. We have only had one swim so far, he took to it like a duck.

That sounds a good idea, it will strengthen the legs as you say, and he's not standing on it.

A slow process back to normal.

Potty Mouth and Nikki confirmed to be going back in

The one person solely responsible for ruining last year's series and pushing LOTS of viewers away last year, and they think she's legendary?

You have insurance I hope? It all sounds very expensive. Mind you, everything at the vets is.

Not Helen? You are joking? Why would they want to do that when they have so many others to choose from?
Ive nothing against Helen, and its not her fault she was given the stupid free pass, but i would hardly call her legendary, and it is less than a year since her series finished.

And it's already getting a bit more nasty out there, I dread to think what's going to be like all of next week when her 'fans' start flooding in

I am quite put off watching actually. Particularly as it seems she is "going to stir things up" I dont want things stirred up. I want people who are not actors interacting normally.
