Good Morning All.:+)))))))))))))))))

17C here today, some sunny spells this morning, cloud this afternoon.

Hi Moots.:+))))))))))))))))

Maybe the satnavs that are built into a car from new can update itself but all satnavs that you buy yourself have to be plugged into a computer to get updated maps, think you have to pay as well.
Not sure on that, some updates may be free, it could depend on how much you paid to buy it.
Some satnavs don't even give you the lead to update it.

sometimes neither the maps or the satnavs have the very latest diversions, and if you want to be bothered with maps why would you get a satnav?

CL sees it as a personal challenge to find a quicker way and beat the satnav.”

Hi Honey.:+)))))))))))))))

I've had a few satnavs and always had to update them from the web by connecting them to a computer.

Hi there Hicky. Good morning you lot.

Cloudy this morning and very humid. Temps rising to about 21c today. It really needs to rain a little.

Quite nice here, sunny anyway, not sure how long for, only 17C expected, you are lucky.
It's not humid though.
Don't really want rain.

Mr G pays to update the maps on his satnav.

Good Morning Gemo.:+))))))))))))))

If you use the satnav for a lot of journeys it's advisable to keep all the map data up to date, not sure what the costs are, it may depend on whether you get free updates with the device when you buy it, it's all down to cost in the end.

If you can afford it it is probably the most sensible thing to do. After all, the purpose of the satnav is to get you there with no bother, and if it gets it wrong there is no point.

He does it before we travel and it’s for the foreign maps. He said it was around £17 to update either Europe or USA.

He only does it if we’re about to travel there.

Hi Gemo.:+)))))))))))))))))

It's best to do that to be sure, the road layouts are really changing at a crazy rate.

Honey is trying to update CL but thats proving difficult as humans hate change.

Has your squirrel been back? you could webcam him perhaps.

It also helps find petrol stations which don’t tend to be on maps.

They can be extremely helpful really.
I found them great going around closed roads, and if you get lost you just tell it where to go, i mean where you want to go.

HONEY, i have a picture of the squirrel sitting on a raised bed munching my strawberries.

See if you can spot him, or her.

I took it from inside a summer house through the window with my phone.

ahh, duh, thanks Hicky! Maybe that's why it keeps asking hopefully if I want to be connected to a computer.
It got hopelessly lost again today and we went in circles many MANY times, until it suddenly switched the screen to sort of blue and white, and flashed up the message that GPS contact had been lost... Good excuse if you ask me....

Yep, with half a window blind business!

I wonder if I should give our birds mealworms? they like quiche, sausage butties and chips best, and if I'm late serving them come and tap the window and try to look starved.

Hi Honey.:+))))))))))))))))

No point in keeping the strawberry plants as the amount of decent fruit just isn't worth the outlay and space required, won't be growing them any more.

Yes, the squirrel looks well fed, it has a strawberry glow, it's looking around for it's next food bonanza.

The wasps have had their fair share of my plums as well, i caught one inside a plum yesterday, was just going to get hold of the plum and i noticed something inside, the blighter was eating it from the inside.

If you give the birds mealworms you will need a lot, i used to buy them by the 10kg off the web but i couldn't keep up with the amount they will eat, and the birds coming for them will multiply daiiy.

When they came regularly we got a nut ring for them.

Robins like mealworms.

It did take me a moment to spot him! We have an occasional visit from a Squirrel, if there weren't so many cats around it might come more often
