Those temperatures are the ones recommended throughout the web, the Government, WHO, and all the data i could find, it is of course more critical for those who are young, sick or old.

Of course if you are in a working environment then the temperature could be lower because your body is generating heat.
The temperatures i am concerned about are the ones in the house when we are doing very little and not creating body heat, thats sitting, eating or sleeping.

It seems to recommend 18.5C for sleep, and 20/21C for normal activities, TV, computer or eating a meal.

I wish Hicky would hurry up and give us the recipe for his magic spray. We just got a couch delivered and that little swine Nobby has weed on the leg already.

As long as your body temperature doesn't drop too much and you don't feel cold then i suppose you are ok.

Hypothermia is a medical emergency that occurs when your body loses heat faster than it can produce heat, causing a dangerously low body temperature. Normal body temperature is around 98.6 F (37 C). Hypothermia (hi-poe-THUR-me-uh) occurs as your body temperature passes below 95 F (35 C).

My problem is that my basic body temperature is 36.4 I think this must have happened when with grim determination I kept myself cold so as to use up more calories. All that happened was that my internal thermostat obligingly dropped itself down several points Of course, being very well, er, upholstered probably doesn't help!

apparently some people like to keep the temperature at 25C

I am told that a body temperature of a degree or two less or more than normal is ok if its normal for you.
Mine is low too, so when I have a raging temperature I appear "normal".
I was read somewhere that people who are genetically from cold countries have lower body temperatures than those from hot places, which is very confusing because I thought it would be the other way around?

Hi Honey, you can't spray what can be used outside in the house.
Where does Nobby usually wee then?
they want to mark their territory don't they?
But if one dog does it then all those following have to do it as well to override the previous.

Hi Moots,
I don't think having it that hot would be healthy.

Hi Honey,
I can understand that, nature knows they can't get the heat so it changes the body temperature.

all the best people, not so Honey! I also have the problem with people thinking my temperature is normal when it isn't. I knew at once, when I was in hospital recently, that my temperature had returned to my normal, because I was overwhelmed by the heat.

I once had the interesting experience of being invited on a flying doctor visit to a mission hospital deep in darkest Africa. It was very interesting, because we had to make several attempts to land in a tiny plane.

The occupants of the mission had been hanging around in the hot sun for some time, waiting for us to arrive, and when we finally staggered out of the plane, our nerves shot to pieces, we were overwhelmed by little kids wanting to shake our hands. Each hand we shook felt very cold indeed. I wonder if this fits in with Hicky's theory??

When i was in Singapore for 18 months my skin changed, you can imagine the colour of it when i came home.
Ever since then i don't feel the heat until its 80F, my body is dry, i no longer perspire, my hands are so dry i used to be able to hold the wire ends of a 1,000 volt Megger Insulation Tester in my hands and feel nothing.

agreed, but the PM didn't get the cheapest fish, never seemed to be where she was needed, didn't specify the size of the fishcakes, overpriced the goods, and was way too bossy

As Lord Sugar implied, if she hadn't been the first to volunteer for team leader, she would have been booted out.

I agree they all messed up but what stood out was the one that was fired didn't really have any good points, thats why he was fired, the others made mistakes but L.S. wants to weed out the ones that are hopeless first, if he had stayed he would have beed just as US on the next mission.

Happy birthday Fluffers - I hope you have settled in well to your new home and aren't grieving for Balders too much..

The damned multiquote button is broke again. People will think im one of those nutters who push their postcount up to lord it over newbies.

Nobby would like to wee on everything that comes into the house to declare ownership. Or anything he can cock his leg on outside.
If you give me your magic formula I will use it on the leg of my garden chair that he wees on every morning while he waits for me to make tea and follow him. (sitting in the other chair instead just makes him wee on that one too)

But wouldnt it be more useful for people in a hot place to have a cool body and the other way around?

My dad was in the desert in the war, and he said it stopped him feeling the heat. He was happy in a jumper and overcoat in summer, and never had to take layers on and off like the rest of us.

I don't know if it will stop him weeing on anything, the last solution i used was a week dilution of Ammonia.
The dogs seemed to smell it but couldn't make out what it was.
I think when wee gets stale it gives off Ammonia so not sure how it would do anything, my neighbour told me she used to use it when the dogs wee'd on something of hers.

To cool down when you are hot you need a hot drink, this makes you perspire which causes cooling on the skin.
The process of refrigeration is of course evaporation.
Thats why you feel cold getting out of water as your body tries to dry you.

Exactly, i rarely need to keep changing from winter to summer clothes as i don't notice the change.
