hello all

Riiiight guys - I read about this somewhere the other day, showing how to look your best in a selfie:
Drop your head, pout your lips, and raise your eyebrows

I've just tried that in front of the mirror and can only be thankful that the wind didn't change and I wasn't stuck like that foreverrr. maybe it is because my eyebrows go like this :

also, having recently developed a little double chin doesn't help at all...

Also... When those stall holders that sell "wonder knives" and "super peelers" start whizzing through large turnips with them, thats the day I will buy one! Strangely, they never seem to have them on the table, do they?”

I always get sucked into buying one of these, or rather I did, until I realised that you need the strength of a man to make them work properly....

Hi Moots,
will have to do some enquiring, they will never run out of nutters.

Hi Honey.

Would you do the challenges? i know i wouldn't.

Thats an easy mistake, they thought the child was a doll.”

oh, of course, DUH! In that case they shouldn't be anywhere near a nursery. I don't think dolls that size are available in a nursery for little children, and they usually tend to be expensive collectors' items.

A shop in the city centre here was selling these - fascinating! I was tempted until I remembered that I tend to fall over a lot just walking! Also, what would I do with my trusty shopping trolley??

I don't think a shopping trolley would matter, not sure what you mean

very sad news, such a brave young woman. I was just wondering how she was the other day... She did so much more in her short life than seemed possible, and she raised £7000000 for children with terminal illnesses.

people who think a living breathing child is a doll have no business working in a nursery

I can't see me zooming around on one of those machines, lugging my trusty shopping trolley behind me can you? maybe I could do it if I dipped my head, raised my eyebrows and pouted, though...

Now there's an idea, Honey!

I usually manage to feed them at set times, unless I have gone out. I'm trying to give them their tea a bit later than 3.30, because they start pestering for biscuits at about 8.30

Evening guys - just popped in to say hello, so 'hello'

We've had some lovely days lately, although the changing of the clocks has made the afternoons seem much shorter.

I've been de-constructing pots and baskets - I still don't have the greenhouse I was promised huff huff so have found places indoors for the cuttings to over winter.

Hicky I'd love to see you zooming around the house on your motorised skateboard!!

Hello JoJo and all

I should be putting all my hostas to bed for the winter, but I just haven't had the time. They do much better if overwintered in the garage rather than outside.

I see the BBC is planning to inflict a whole series on us just showing wild animals hunting and killing other animals.

I guess this is a tiny step up from people enjoying watching wild animals killing humans in an arena 2000 years ago...
I used to enjoy wildlife programmes, until they introduced a strong content of animal-on-animal carnage. Now I don't dare watch in case I see some horrific sight of animals being disembowelled.

Who actually ENJOYS watching this sort of thing, and won't watching Jekyll and Hyde on ITV be enough for them?.

ABOLISH THE LICENCE FEE!!!!

Hi JoJo.:+))))))))))))))))

Yes, short afternoons now, have wrapped all the tree tubs in 3ply bubble wrap.

Pity you didn't get the greenhouse, maybe one day.

Not sure O/H would be impressed with me zooming around the house, the 2 main doors between the hall, dining room and kitchen are swing doors so that would be handy, have have safety glass panels so you can see through the door.

I'm sure they just want to show the animals in the wild the way they are so people understand what life is like for them.

Also if noone was interested they wouldn't be showing it surely.
It's probably done more for the young so they can see the reality of the wild, the grownups should already be aware.

at least i don't have to pay a license fee.

I don't blame you, it really is off putting when your watching a wildlife doc and it suddenly has a scene of gory violence, yes we know that nature is like that and not all cuddly and cute but it is still not something you want to watch

Hello all

sorry I sounded a bit like Victoria Meldrew last night.... I just know that when I was a kid, if I had seen the degree of gore, violenc and sex that is shoved in our faces today, I would be a gibbering wreck.

In my youth I read one Roald Dahl book (something about witches as I recall) and I was petrified and not in a good way at all. The story haunted me for months. I think it is rubbish saying that chldren love violence and gore.
