I don't know how she found time to be the Birdseye Frozen Peas little girl and have all those acting roles in her youth..
I also remember seeing her in The Bluebird when she played either Tytyl or Mytyl ( I can't remember who was the girl and who the boy) along with Elizabeth Taylor, and I think she was in The Old Curiosity Shop as a teenager..
I suspect she is playing a role, otherwise known as a game plan, and is acting her socks off.

I've just got a scanner for my old negatives and am about to start the mammoth (ly boring) task of putting them all onto the laptop.
Gemo, if you're around, any suggestions for getting rid of duplicates in iPhoto? I seem to have an awful lot of them...plus any tips for formatting/storing the digital pics I'll be scanning would be much appreciated

I’ve no idea. She could have had Attention Deficit Disorder, if her parents didn’t think dyslexia existed I doubt if they checked if she had any other learning difficulties.

It doesn't sound as though her parents wanted to take any notice and I guess in those days there was more of a stigma attached to what they probably thought of as 'mumbo jumbo'.

I've met lots of parents, fathers in particular, who refuse to have their child(ren) tested for dyslexia because they don't believe it exists, and that's over the last 25 years.

… and at a private school she could probably have got away with doing that and avoiding lessons.

I don't blame them in some cases because the "solution" is sometimes to label the child for life and give them extra "tuition" from somebody unqualified and inexperienced. (due to the lack of funds I imagine?)
I would advise parents to check exactly what is on offer first.

Mine was forced to attend extra "lessons" at college by people who do not have any training in dyslexia, and not much grasp of English. One of them hadn't even heard of a hyphen!
This is despite it being more of an advantage than hindrance, and her never once getting any mark lower than merit or distinction.
