Happy New Year watched the fireworks from my friends boat mored in the inlet in Cairns. Had a great time and know yours is still to come. Don't forget to add an extra second to 2016 and thats official!

Happy New Year, i always forget how far ahead you are - is it 10 hours

Yes in Cairns we are 10 hours ahead with no daylight saving in Queensland. In Sydney they have daylight saving in NSW so they are 11 hours ahead. Its funny on the border with towns like Tweed Heads (NSW) celebrate New Year and cross the street and be in Coolangatta (QLD) and celebrate it again 1 hour later.

Its actually 4am here and I am still up.

very very wrong! funnily enough, i try to avoid it but every now and again i find i have clicked on it by accident. i saw it the other day and i was very surprised to see that it has really gone downhill in my opinion. (didnt think that was possible)
They did used to have good columnists at one time, so i wonder what happened? Or did i just catch it on a bad day?

I have just got in from a new years do. The host passed out shortly after nine so i took the opportunity to escape.
