Nearly made a boo boo over my planned op, i had the pre-op schooling course in Clatterbridge as it had my first choice of hospitals, got my date over the phone and received the paperwork the other day.

I was reading it and planning were to go on the morning of the op as i have to be there for 7am,
Gave the paperwork to my O/H to read, she called me from the other room and said, do you know where your having the op, i said Clatterbridge isn't it?, no she says, it's at Arrowe Park, wow, good job she read it.

They originally gave me the choice of hospitals, don't know what happened to that.

Is Arrowe Park as good as Clatterbridge?

I hadn't noticed the hospital had changed, i would have gone to the wrong one.

I had my Tripple 'A' op at Arrow Park, but some say they prefer Clatterbridge.
They have a better canteen attached, not that i want to stay in a long time.

I expect the surgery will be the same everywhere but if they were schools Clatterbridge would be the grammar and Arrowe park the comprehensive.

You are probably right but, Arrow Park is a parking nightmare.

the best curry in the world, that reminds me, i've got some Lamb Fillet in the freezer to make a Rendang, pure nectar.

at the risk of me appearing to be pernickety, Hicky, did you mean ambrosia?
Or is rendang some sort of beverage?

Rendang is the best tasting curry i've ever had, mind you i was in Malaysia so probably had it a long time ago.
It really is the best flavour curry ever.
I think it's been voted that as well.

After going to Kerala, seeing a cookery demonstration, and buying spices we stopped buying jars for Indian food. Italian is simple to do without buying them as well.

If you don’t like food too hot you can put in the amount of chilli you want.

There is so little curry in the bowl you might be forced to eat the chilli to ward off starvation.

I am definitely with Nadia on what she said about Callum demanding light dinners then eating crisps all day. Some of the "suggested" portion sizes for meals these days are ridiculously small and you wouldn't be bothered going to the effort for a couple of tablespoons.


Question for Hicky...
Is there something wrong with my new microwave? Every time we use it it fills up with steam. So much that you cant even see into it! It has a vent at the side but nothing seems to be coming out of it. This cant be normal, can it?

You are funny.

The chilli is a side dish for the person having the food, it's not part of the curry from the jar.

I'm making one for tea myself, using Lamb as the meat, it's even better than beef.

It seems to me that pastes are best used to zhuzh it up at the end of cooking after using fresh spices rather than for the whole thing.

Pretty sure it was oil.

I hardly ever find portion sizes too small. Mr G and I often split a meal for one between us, and we always split puddings.

This could of course explain why you are beautiful and slim and I am an elephant.

I’m not that slim, the scales say overweight. I wouldn’t mind losing some weight but I think I’ll have to do more exercise rather than eating less.

I think that is always the best way if possible, because cutting down on food means cutting down on nutrients.

No frost here, rather surprising.

Update on garden nightmare.

Fence now almost completed around the bottom of the garden.
6 Panels on the left side after the garage, 6 panels along the back and 3 panels bottom right.
Another 9 panels to be installed to the right to complete the back garden.

My Raised bed timber comes Monday, one of the summer houses comes Tuesday, the week after 2nd Mar. the 3 x 3m Gazebo comes then the next day the 3 x 3m Summerhouse comes.

Just a thought, in case any of you are contemplating buying any goods for your garden this year.

Hello all

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to stop an obstinate small dog from licking her front leg so hard it now has a sore on it, and then rubbing the leg into her one remaining eye, that had to have a £2000 operation on it last year? The two are deffo interconnected, and if she carries on like this her visual future will be bleak...

I tried bandaging her whole leg with a veterinary bandage bought online, and it stained her leg blue and fell off I can't put anything nasty tasting on her leg (it's a bit late for that now anyway) as she will probably rub it into her eye...

Last night I carefully bandaged the whole leg with a cohesive bandage for humans and by this morning the bandage was still in place BUT her poor little foot, er paw!!! was swollen. I felt just AWFUL!!

I think I will have to try the cohesive bandage again, but use less of it...

My saga at the v e t's continues - I took Amy-Louise for review yesterday, and she is still lactating... The stuff she is on costs £22 per 5ml bottle, but at least she is insured.

When I was in hospital, although I had totally lost my appetite, the portions were so tiny that I actually felt hungry!
