Hi Honey.:+))))))))))))))))))))))))

No, it's a dog, it's not it's looks, it's an animal, it's something that needs more looking after than a child sometimes, each animal cost the family about £16,000 during it's life, surely that could be better spent.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/p...st-by-500.html

It probably means the family is really losing out.”

It is an interesting article and I am not surprised they are so expensive. Our four pets cost almost a hundred a month in insurance.
The cats are pretty cheap because they like the costco cat food which is good quality and cheap. A £19 sack lasts about three months with the hounds sharing. Otherwise a similar sack would be about £50. The dogs have cat biscuits sometimes, and freshly cooked meat every day with a little vegetables. They could manage fine on cheaper stuff but i like to give them a selection through the week.
You could have a jolly good holiday with all that money i suppose, but it is still cheaper than smoking or drinking, and I would rather have pets than a good holiday.

Good lord! Maggots in a fray bentos pie? Dont they need air to survive?
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...-children.html I think it is more likely that the tin wasnt sealed, perhaps?
Poor sod. Not only has he got a maggoty pie, but he paid over the odds for it too!

Good Afternoon Honey.:+)))))))))))))

Wow, would you, you wouldn't be able to take them all with you anyway really.

Maggots may not need air, doubt if they breath.

Some caterpillars get frozen solid in the winter but when the thaw comes they just get up and start eating again, so freezing probably wouldn't harm them.
Cooking wood, probably why you should make sure food reaches the right temperature.

That is a big breach of factory health, this is going to cause a big stink, they will be able to trace the tin back to the line where it's made as long as the feller doesn't get rid of the tin.

We need to go away to take pictures. Putting the cats in the cattery is a major part of the expense, we thought we had found a solution, but she broke her ankle.

The maggots are probably the best meat in that pie – and yes, they do need air to breath but not very much. maybe the pies are not vacuum sealed and there was enough air left in the can for the maggots.

They respire, i.e. combine oxygen with food to produce carbon dioxide and energy.

Every living creature respires, all requiring oxygen apart from anaerobic bacteria.

Hi Gemo.:+))))))))))))))))))

these Maggots had been frozen solid, the pie was from Iceland so they would only wake when the pie thawed out, strange.

They could have gone into a state of torpor or they could have been eggs and hatched when the pie was thawed.

Hello all

I am a tad suspicious about the truth of Maggotgate....

Zac and EmilyRose are now both groomed and looking and smelling gorgeous, so much so that Blossom Mootle keeps burying her little snout into Zaccy's hair.

Zaccy is still very indignant about the whole thing and he has yapped almost non-stop since yesterday...

Not going to Crufts again this year, not well, back on antibiotics..

I just wandered into the page which has the headings of the other forums, and saw that Liz Jones has her very own Forum. I read the 2 final pages (they are now on Part 4!) and realised that this was deffo not a Liz Jones Appreciation Forum and that any psoitive comments would not be welcome, so I slunk out again, wearing sunglasses and a hoodie...

Poor Liz, I wonder if she knows? I am a fan, but she does rather place herself constantly in the firing line with her column in You Magazine - surely she can find something else to write about other than close friends and relations, or at least say something nice about them?

The exact same thing that happened to Amy-Louise happened to Pippin. Swollen breasts, false pregnancy etc and we were called back to pick her up and will attempt the op in a couple of weeks.
I made a show of myself for nothing.

Oooh. I didnt know she had her own forum. I am a fan too. Despite her being the most self centered woman ever, and despite her constant moaning and martyrdom i like her anyway.
I havent seen her column for ages. Is she marrying that incredibly patient man?

Aaaaaaaah, I see the compensation culture is claiming another victim, except that it always seems to be poor old Iceland that gets it in the neck.....I wonder what they will think of next?

Been outside all day, so much to do and i can do so little.
Can't stand for long, difficult to walk, even harder to carry stuff.
Got my Mitre saw and benches out to cut planks for the raised beds, pleased with the progress today.

Hope your day went well?

Hi Hicky

When is your operation? I know you did tell us, but my short term memory is virtually non-existent these days.

I've had quite a good day thanks - still unpacking the display cabinet and bookcases, refereeing canine squabbles etc.

Hi Moots.:+))))))))))))

I go into Hospital on the 25th, early, 7am N.B.M., lots to do before then.

I didn't enjoy unpacking when we moved, but it was a lot better than packing, hated that.
