Yesterday was lovely here, sunshine for most of the day and no rain. Today the forecast says 13c with some sunshine but rain in the afternoon.

Same as here yesterday, today not as good, very cloudy at the mo.
Hope the rain stays off but this afternoon is supposed to be dry.
Lots to do outside today, been trying to get a summerhouse built for a week but it's been too windy.

Went out for brekkie as it was raining so couldn't work outside, too muddy.

What a miserable day, rain started at about 8am and stopped about 12.30 but with everything wet it's made all my wood heavy so doubt if i could lift it now.
Unless the sun comes out it's another wasted day.

Assuming you could lift it, is it even possible to build with wet wood? Wont it shrink when its dry?

This wood is classed as Railway Sleepers, but it's only half the thickness of normal sleepers, it's 6 x 2" x 8Ft, it's for my raised beds, 3 high and there will be 5 of them 2400 x 600mm.
The wood is treated to stop it rotting but i will be separating it from the compost by a plastic sheet., the wood is so heavy but as it will be outside all year it probably won't really matter.

I'll have to remind them before i go under that i'm not in for a sex change, you hear about these things don't you.
Also, i might write on my hip with a marker pen to remind them which leg it is.
You hear so many hard luck stories, because if they turn you over everything is back to front.

If you brush them the dust goes into the air and back on the shelves later.
Unless you use tack cloths of course.

Vacuum the shelves? Is that a "thing" ? I thought Moots was just clearing a space, not practicing weird self harm.

Well if Moots is dusting the shelves if you don't vacuum them you just spread the dust into the air and it resettles onto the shelves again.

Not if you use a damp cloth, like the whole world does.

I suppose the window cleaner would do it for a bit extra.

Mind you using these would be the best solution as wetting certain shelving isn't ideal.
This is what is used on cars to remove dust during the build.

Is it just a microfibre cloth? Oh, talking of microfibre, I heard that you shouldnt wipe induction hobs (i suppose any ceramic hob) with kitchen roll because it eventually scratches it.

Did anybody see Poldark~? I liked it very much, but I kept thinking I had missed an episode because it seemed to start halfway through.

I've been using a wipe "suitable for all surfaces" which is damp, so hopefully it trapped most of the dust. The worst was on the top of the units,

poor dog, how appalling.

I've recorded Po;dark and will watch if I have time...

Not at all pleased with the winners at Crufts. I wanted the Seluki or the Maltese to win. The Maltese lookes so happy to be running around the ring with its hair flowing and not bound up in curlers..

Was I seeing things or did the winner's owner actually LIFT him by the tail?

And... when the owner fell flat on her face during the agility, her dog was penalised for rushing over to see if she was alright! They should have let them start again.

No, it's a tacky cloth that picks up any dust as it touches it, so instead of creating any dust by moving it into the air it sticks to the cloth surface., don't think microfibre cloths pick up the dust do they?

Wouldn't think kitchen towel scratched ceramic hobs but they bare easily scratched by dragging pans etc across the surface.


She shouldn't have left the dog on it's own, pretty stupid if you ask me, and the certificates were stolen as well, a £50,000 dog and you leave it alone at a dog show, crazy.

As long as what you use picks up the dust and it doesn't go into the air that should work.

Possibly I once saw an owner in the Discover Dogs section actually pick up his dog by the scruff of its next.
I did read somewhere, possibly the good old DM that there is a lunatic at large poisoning dogs in the same way by leaving the beef cubes where dogs let off the lead can find them. I can't see how a poison could kill a dog 26 hours after it left the Show.
At least this means that owners will have to stay with their dogs - I have often seen very unhappy dogs sitting in those little cubicles all alone.

I saw it the first time round and very much enjoyed the first series. As I recall, , there were several series and the whole thing got a bit boringgg towards the end, but I could be wrong. I think that Aidan's messy hair and fuzzy face are going to be quite a put off for me...

I think they said it was a slow release poison. I dont know why they thought they got the wrong dog? Wouldnt that narrow the suspects down to the owners of similar dogs?

Poldark was completely ridiculous but splendid at the same time. I didnt see the first one, but I was surprised to read that there was only two series. My "memory" is of my mother watching it for years on end.
