I'm back.

Just ordinary treatment usually from the practice nurse. A simple injection of B12 that if given at the right time would have saved him from complete numbness on one side of the body, fainting all the time and crippling lethargy among other things.
The nurse has been off sick and first we were told the doctor could do it and they would ring (no call) then we were told to wait for the nurse (still off sick) then we were told to ring every morning to see if there was a cancellation (they are inundated because the doctor is doing the nurse's work) and finally today fearing he was going to drop dead i dragged him to the surgery, we got an appointment ,only to be told that the doctor CAN NOT do injections (by the very same receptionist that told us he will) (twice)
At this point I flipped and told the practice manager who was horrified and had him sent to the medical centre within half an hour.
We tried walking because i was worried the taxi wouldnt come quick enough with it being school run time, but halfway there he collapsed and there wasnt much i could do other than hiss at him to get up

and order a taxi which got to us right away.
They were really helpful at the medical centre and offered him water and let him rest etc, and next time its due the nurse is going to come to the house to do it, so alls well that ends well.
Usually with medical mistakes i think it is a case of good people doing their best in an underfunded and overcrowded system being too busy, and having misunderstandings, but this very same receptionist is at the root of all the mistakes by the look of it.

I hope she is soundly thrashed by the practice manager.
