Similar to here. The sun came out mid-morning and has stayed out.

I've the tomatoes still in my conservatory, along with the beans and the cannabis. but the outside has been sorted and waiting for mid May. Carrots, lettuce ect are outside and doing great at at the moment. The cannabis hopefully won't taste like spinach, it's meant to have citrus flavor...six more weeks and I'll report back with a proper critique

I've ordered some grafted veg, i do each year, Tomato's, Peppers, Cucumber and Melon, they only deliver when it's ok to plant outside, they are due on the 22nd, probably safe then to plant them outside.

Weather, should be stable by the 22nd for outside growing. My wife loves growing from seed, it's cathartic for her and we've a large conservatory to nurture her endeavors 'til they can be moved into the garden

I have some plants form seed but you need to have them under a lamp 24/7 with a minimum temperature of 16C, I have a tray with a thousand carrots, no idea how to separate them, it looks like a grass lawn.

That's, a good question. This year we've used deep containers with a 50/50 mix compost and soil. We grew them last year in directly turned-over beds in the garden but when we pulled them out, they where completely twisted. I think that my garden's soil is too stony even when forked,so it's tubs this year

You are not supposed to handle carrots outside during the day anyway as the carrot fly will pick up the scent from when they are handled, the carrots are in a small grow box and i put hundreds of seeds into it, i can probably separate them but whether they will survive being transplanted is anyones guess.

I bought 1.5 tonne of old horse manure and 1 tonne of top soil, i mixed in 210 litres of Coir coconut fibre so the mix is pretty good, it's very light.

I have always found carrots hard to grow, and never got them straight.

Coir coconut fibre...is that for retaining moisture?

Cannabis? Have you moved in with Halla? I thought cannabis needed far more heat than a conservatory can deliver?

Hello, Gemo. I've ventured out of my ashram and am trying to re-embrace media

Edit- So sorry, how are you doing? (I'm horrible like that when conversing with another, like a diode just one way but I'm working on it.

Well 1 block of 5kg of fibre when immersed in water creates 70 litres of material, i mixed 3 lots into the top soil in the raised beds, also added vermiculite which aids water retention.

I’m fine, thanks. Busy April with awards dinner, Nick Cave gig, wine tasting dinner, house guests and an ill cat. I sent Mr G alone to a party on Saturday.

Party on Sunday with the possibility of going on to Trade show on Tuesday but that is not fixed.

… and my mother has broken her wrist.

… and i think I have a big editing job to do. It was mentioned last week but hasn’t been since, so I’m not sure.

Is that big for cannabis? They are certainly very pretty plants.

I suppose the high temperatures are to encourage a higher yield if you are selling it then? I know the police have heat seeking helicopters that identify cannabis farms by the heat coming off the roof.

William and Catherine must have been reading the thread. Between us we guessed it right.

Sorry to hear that she's broken her wrist, it's quite painful. What's put your cat ill, is it just ageing? Sending your husband to a party on his own, I should have married the likes of you. You are still editing, not a job that I'd like...I'm nervous every time I post you

Not too big but healthy for their stage of growth...I farm just for fun, I suspect that helicopters won't be buzzing about me anytime soon

My poor cat had to have an enema. He seems OK now but it’s the second time he’s come back from the kennels “bunged up”. I’m hoping that I can get them looked after at home next time we go away.

He was back by 11.30 with food for me. There were a lot of guitar players jamming together and I’d have been bored.

I always run through and proof read the magazine content but this is a booklet I will be looking after on my own. Something I used to do and enjoy, but a lot of things went in house and the work went.
