Phone with 320GB of storage
When it comes to storage on phones its usually a case of enough is never enough. So will 320GB be enough? Quote:
The Saygus V2 has a 5-inch, 1080p display and features a 2.5GHz quad core Snapdragon processor with 3GB RAM, powering Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Saygus says the V2 designed for the media junkie, which is to say it boasts up to 320GB of storage — 64GB internal with two MicroSDXC slots. It's got a 21-megapixels rear (with dual-LED flash) and 13-megapixel front-facing camera. The V2 also has Harman Kardon speakers, a biometric fingerprint scanner, built-in Wireless Qi charging, root access for developers... look, there's a lot to love in this phone. The design isn't particularly inspired, but the frame is fairly small and robust.

That kind of storage is definitely of interest to me.

Nothing in that article about battery life though. With those kind of innards, the battery would need to be a fair monster i think. Great amount of storage though. #edit Reading up a bit more about it, it seems to be an absolute beast Quote:
The spec reads like a phone nerd's wish list, and includes a few bits of neat-sounding technology we haven't seen before. A 5in, 1080p 'ArcticLink III' sunlight-readable screen. 64GB of built-in storage, and two microSDXC slots, supporting up to 128GB a piece (that's 320GB of potential storage, folks). A side-mounted fingerprint scanner. A 21MP rear camera and a 13MP front camera, both with optical image stabilisation. http://www.stuff.tv/ces-2015/ces-201...-powerful/news
And there's more. NFC. An IR transmitter for TV control. Harman/Kardon speakers. Built-in wireless Qi charging. Wireless HDMI capability from Silicon Image. Some battery-boosting jiggery-pokery claimed to make the 3100mAh battery perform like a 4600mAh unit. 4G LTE too, of course, but augmented by technology from Fractal Antenna that Chad Sayers claims will add a bar to your mobile reception wherever you are. Out of the box the V2 runs Android 4.4.4 and will be updated to Lollipop in the near future, but interestingly the device can boot other OSs from microSD too - Sailfish and Linux, for example. |

Only really needed if using the device for shooting lots of 4K video if it even does that or taking lots of pictures? Or apps.
If needing to store music a NAS storage device would work on any other phone or PC. |

Apparently they're launching with a special online 'pre-registration' price of $549 for the handset, which includes an extra battery and specialized glass screen protector.
https://www.saygus.com/shop/ The phone will also ship pre-rooted and unlocked as well, to add to the other plethora of features or "all the features" as some magazines have put it ![]() If it could be imported at that price, around £365 quid, it would be more than worth it. |

pre-rooted - Doesn't that means certain apps like SkyGo, Banking etc will never work without some cloaking tech?

Rootcloak.
There are a number of threads, one ends with the following post: Quote:
Thread should probably be closed, project is dead. http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpos...-root-t2574647
Please also note, this module would only work in lollipop if xposed was brought to lollipop first, that is a possibility, but is going to take more time per the developer of xposed. So watch for that update first, but don't expect this module to get updated, it's been dead for months if you read the thread. |

But what about the usability? Throwing specs at a phone does not make it good. Each of the features is good in its self but I am sceptical of this phone making good use of them. Android, particularly KitKat, handles sd cards slots in a poor way so go knows what two sd cards will be like. Maybe that is why it is pre-rooted to allow better sd card management.
Root cloak should work with this phone as it is running 4.4, I didn’t have any issues cloaking my G2 when it was running stock (i.e. 4.4). |
